Get over yourself Jack? If you cannot admit that the mapping in th UK is on the whole, crapo, then you are a deluded individual.
Sure, I agree with you, if Apple invest in their in house mapping, as they are planning, it could become something incredible and certainly surpass Google.
But it isn't there yet and you have to admit that? Or can you not?
Anyway, they shouldn't call it 3D, should be called 2.5D in GIS terms as it is a fixed slant-angle view.
Had a customer meeting with some of the technical bods from the worlds leading GIS company today. Most of the meeting was laughing at the maps. But what is known is that many proper GIS experts have been head hunted by Apple these past six months, so good things are to come.

Here is the famous GCHQ building and the western part of Cheltenham. Sorry, detail is awful, both the raster (excusable) and the vector layers (inexcusable).

They have fixed it on the iPhone, but not on the iPad yet although the fix goes out tonight apparently.
But you ignore my Hybrid imaging post. Do you not agree that is gack?

Looks like a lot of them are coming out of the box having done a drop test already.

The good news is those scratches would have broken other phones as shown in that Android video and Apple will replace them immediately rather than make you wait three weeks without a phone.

What percentage would you say was a lot, bearing in mind no mobile device has shipped in such numbers in the history of mobile devices.

Christ, 3 weeks????
My 5 arrived today... nice bit of kit - much lighter than the 4 but still solid and with a feeling of quality. Not for everyone, I'm sure but it'll do me fine thanks.
Also, re the maps, never used the old app much anyway as I use the TomTom app so doesn't really bother me. Besides, it's just and app and they'll fix it soon enough I'm sure... bit embarrassing for Apple though none the less.

The lead then becomes very loose in the port meaning that you have to effectively wiggle the lead in place to make sure you charge the handset and hold it there. I didn't notice at first and left it on charge overnight and by the morning the battery was flat.
Also don't believe that everything the Android software world is rosey either, Google Chrome crashes quite regularly on the S3, I only use it because the installed browser is so woefully rubbish.

And this Jon is where Apple's customer service will shine. Any damaged phones will upset Sir Ive as much as it upsets the new owner. No other phone company would give a poo.
