You can't beat offline maps, but I need big boy maps when I'm off in the hills so google just won't do. Plenty of real apps in the App Store.
Very minimal data usage so far, couple of meg, good work Apple. You may have put Vernons Dog Grooming on the wrong side of the road, but I can forgive you that and appreciate the bigger picture.

Looks like the A38 now ends at the M1

Apple maps is utterly gash. Its why Tim Cook wrote and apologised to apple users. Its why he said to use Google Maps.
The worse thing about it is that previously where the API called in Google maps, it now calls in Apple maps - Meaning you are stuck with it in certain situations.

Well worth a read.
Two collegues this morning with perfect iPhones, one has two daughters, both with perfect iPhones.
iOS maps was perfect on my journey to France, no mistakes, minimal data usage and great traffic reports.
Online surveys are a waste of time, I can see a good few people on this thread and the whole PR department at Samsung clicking the 'Damaged' button.

You think Google took Satellite images? LOL. They buy them and money isn't short at Apple.
Street view and Satellite images are examples of looking for your Dog, not exactly important.

And Flyby is an examples of really wanting to be a pilot when you grew up...
If you don't think satellite images are useful, why would you think Apple would want to have them?
Actually, I find street view very useful. If I'm visiting a new place and want to get an idea of the area, or visiting someones house I've not been to before, and want to see what the street is like for parking it's a very good tool to have. More useful than a flyby I would say. Just because Apple Maps does not have it....

Of course they buy their images, but making them work together is the trick and yes, it has taken google a long time. Apple will be playing catch up for a number of years.
As for your repeated 'looking for a dog' comment, aren't details important to you?
I thought that was something that you looked for in a device and something that Apple (up until now) delivered?
It is ok trying to troll, but at least have some consistancy in your arguments young man.

Sattelite images are not examples of looking for your dog. They give you a real world view of your location - its incredibly handy when you have a less detailed map - Such as the ****e Apple maps.
Presumably you feel the Apple 3D view of major cities is a complete waste of time?
Google have spent million of dollars and millions of man hours creating the premier mapping service availble. And apple can recreate this in a few months? I'd love to see it, I really would - Because I have to use the absolutle clusterfvck that is Apple maps, but there is just no way they can do it - There just isn't anough time available. As rich as Apple are, they can't just buy more time.

I find streetview very handy on my phone, about once every two years. I've found integrated turn by turn navigation and vector based mapping useful just about every day. And guess what, I can use both now, great isn't it. 3D satellite mapping is the future, it's far more useful than Streetview. The coverage will come and it will arrive at an accelerated rate.

Out of interest - what have you found useful about vector based mapping? ANy why do yo uthink that Apple will be able to match Googles coverage at an "accelerated rate?"

Vector mapping is nothing to do with Satellite it's a way of drawing standard maps that requires drastically less data, I would not have dreamed of using the old bitmap tiles to drive across Europe, the cost would have been staggering.

I didn't. I had a tomtom as backup, but didn't need to use it and it's out of date anyhow. TomTom provide the data to Apple they know a bit about in car navigation, been at it for years.

Love some of the icrapple users comments of "well, i dont use a computerised map, it isnt accurate enough".
Not with a Icrapple it isnt boys. I dont know why you dont all just give up and realise you've bought a duffer.
