Deffo going stay with the td04, heres me driving around with 215 bhp for nearly a year thinking its 300bhp and quick as lol.
So i think 270 + is plenty for the time being as its my first scoob.
Was just happy when simon(jgm) said it still had the original ecutec on there.
Thanks for that mate.
Remap on the 24th oct- happy days.

yeah maybe , but could have been worse , youre moving forward now , just put it down to experience , you will learn loads as you go along and you're gonna know exactly what's been done from now on
Its knowing when to stop that's the problem (And most of us don't lol)

If its been heavily overfueling on that map, it might be wise to change the plugs and engine oil incase of plug fouling and fuel dilution - although if the oil is diluted with fuel the damage is already done (damage = more wear and tear on an engine of unknown origin/condition )

Thats why I'd think twice about pushing big BHP numbers. That is unless you want a good excuse to chuck a new engine into it in the future.

Its only rich on boost and not dissimilar to original map richness wise. I dont believe rich enough to cause damage.

Did you buy this private or dealer, either way I know its a year on but I would still be inclined to have a rant at the seller.

Well pissed off to say the least.
Taking it carnetix next week to sort it.
May be a diferent engine.
Any thoughts what it could be.
Its over fueling but would this cause a loss of 75bhp?
Thanks
Lofty.
Ah, the seemingly obligatory 300bhp that all the classics now have

I had a full service a 2 month ago, and said the engine seemed fine.
Also i had the decat put on by glen at carnetix 1 monrh ago he also said the engine seems fine.
I swapped the car with a dealer off swapz, cant find him no more, a guy tony thornton owned it before the dealer i think.
From newbury area i think.
Maybe he blow the engine ??
Plate is S600BTT if anyone knows it?
Cheers

Yeah, however they all seemed to miss the fact it is well down on power.

I'm not being funny, but nobody will tell you the internal wear or bearing condition on any engine without complete disassembly. You may get clues from measuring hot idle oil pressures and getting lab anaylsis of oil etc, but they are just that, clues. I'm just making sure you are aware of that.

Totally agree!

It's nice to know I could increase the power but to be honest I couldn't care how many bhp mine has currently, I know it's massively quicker than what I had before and that it makes me smile every time I drive it!

You are correct what you are saying , but that applies to all of us modding scoobys , you could have a thrashed / tracked 30k miles car or 100k looked after car ,, you just don't know , and from experience in the motor trade in a lot of cases service history is not worth the paper it's written on ( especially with older cars )
Unless you're starting with a fresh build motor ( and that's no guarantee ) your gonna have to run with what you've got , it's a risk modding any engine regardless of make And mileage

That is the right attitude. As others have said alomost any engine can let go and you have no real idea when you buy a Scoob how well it has been treated so just get it mapped and enjoy it.
