Grimmy@R1 - it was grim!

But his 'act' hasn't changed in all those years and its boring now.
For a left-field choice, I really like Liza Tarbuck when she stands in for other DJ's - she's brilliant.

Do you remember when they had the Breakfast show, they were not good I think they only lasted a few months.
Mustn't Grumble!

I didn't listen today. I will try again in a couple of weeks when he is settled in and see if it is better. I will also give Chris Evans a go who I used to like in his wild days, I just can't stand the music on Radio 2.

Yes - its was tolerable today.
They do seem to have been told 'No Zoo' format, as they were chatting with Fincham & the other guy & Grimmy said, No zoo, No zoo, so it seems they've been told its a definate
I can't believe that the week when they are expecting massive audience churn, especially in the direction of R2, that they let the darling of R2 Breakfast, Chris Evans, take a holiday
I used to love Chris Evans when did the R1 & Virgin breakfast shows, they were legendary, however I think he's been reigned in somewhat for R2.
However I agree with Boxst - the music choice is appalling on R2

I get the feeling he was picked for who he knows , not what he does. All it is ,is the fame game , and thats all kids are interested in. When a celeb (even a minor one , like someone who auditioned on xfactor) Tweets my daughter she goes mad like shes won the lotto. If the kids even hear their fave celebs getting talked about they love it. I however couldnt give a toss , just tell me something that you did that makes me laugh in the morning , not what feckin 1direction had for brekfast.

The BBC trust have said that the breakfast show is to be aimed at 15-28 year olds and the average listener age of the moyles show was mid 30's hence they moved him on. How many of the people abovew that said they switched off are over 28? If you are then the BBC have done what they intended.
Chris Moyles is still under contract to the BBC for another 18 months or so. Do you think he will appear on radio 2 like all the other DJ's that have been moved on?
I'm 35 and find myself listening to more radio 2 than radio 1 so they must be doing something right

Listened for the first time today. There was too much music and when the talking started I had trouble working out wtf I was hearing. It sounded like a woman who'd been sucking on a balloon of helium. And, quite frankly, talking gibberish. Utter crap. Good for upcoming bands to get airtime I suppose but R1 could save a salary by playing tracks interspersed with a 10 second recording of a flatulent mouse every 10 minutes or so.

Much to my surprise, Grimshaw did not lose any listeners. The latest RAJAR released today shows that he had only a 40,000 drop (which is really a statistical anomaly).
It appears those listeners came from no-where, as Radio 2 Chris Evans is up 980,000 and Absolute Radio Christian O'Connell is up as well ..

Which is the general consensus of everyone I know (not iPod but other radio stations) and other forums I post on. So I have no idea how he managed to sustain those numbers unless it is averaged out and people like me dipped in and out for the first month until deciding that he was indeed incredibly annoying.

Unless you are a 16 year old who is following Harry Styles on twitter then you are not the demographic for Radio1, you never were.
Maybe the younger audience has filled the void to keep his numbers up.

I would no sooner listen to radio 1 than **** on my lawn
I listen to radio 4 and 5,
It is simply natures way of sorting radio listening via facial complexion
