Banks taking the p*ss again!

A WEEK later they change their minds and cancel his overdraft.
And YOU can't see that that could be wrong?
I had you down as fairly sensible, but in this case, you seem to be committing to the "ooh ooh it's a big bank, better bend over" brigade.
Next?

she is now a junior school teacher in london so all was not wasted, but it proves the point that most of these kids qualifications are totally wasted, as for my spelling mistakes my answer is B0LLOCKS it's a forum not a english thesis and you somehow knew what i ment so it makes no difference. as for student debt if they earn under £15grand a year they don't have to pay it back untill they earn more,a customer of mine has a student engineer working for him and he told me his salary is £14999 but he gives him a large xmas present

Alcazar this has nothing to do with bending over for a big bank, it's about you relying on a verbal assurance that should never have been given. Complain to them about that by all means, but raging against the machine because you think they've gone back on their word seems like an awful lot of wasted energy. But ok, prove me/us wrong, get a concession from them if you can and i honestly hope you can come to some arrangement. But for goodness sake learn a lesson, get these things in writing next time.

All I can say mate is that if your cousin has all those qualifications and she still struggles to find a job she must be one ugly munter, or there must be something seriously wrong with her personality (runs in the family perhaps?)
As for your spelling or the way you write in general, I'm sorry but it's fecking diabolical. No this isn't an English test, but we have a language for a reason. I have to read everything you write about three times to make sense of it. My five year old son could pick out some of those spelling mistakes you've made.
So here is the real problem with this country, not over educated individuals, but people like you who have left school and have the literacy level of a primary school child.
And you can say B0LLOCKS as many times as you like, it doesn't change anything.

He isn't working because he CAN'T GET A JOB! He's applied for loads, but is now overq1ualified for supermarket shelf filling, (and round here, yoiu don't get in with Tossco and the like unless you have family already working there), and tthere are no qualified jobs. This sin't the south east you know.
Neither can he afford to move away, since he would have £6.40 an hour and nowhere to live.
He's applied for well over 200 jobs........and nothing. Two interviews.
He has a degree in chemistry form Hull Uni.

I think you've alluded to the problem anyway, if his search is narrowed to within a certain radius of where you live then it may make finding something more difficult. I moved from one side of the country to the other when I left Uni so that I could work, it was tough going for the first few years but hey it's also character building. I now have a great job, highly paid and well respected but many miles from "home".
If the North / South divide really is that bad then surely a move south for him would make most sense?

There you have it, unfortunately:
He doesn't want a move away from here, although he is quite happy to commute up to 50 miles a day if necessary.
Moving away would mean a LOWER income, even if he could get a job, since he would instantly be into rent/rates/food etc.
And then there is the girl: been apart for two years now, doesn't want to be parted again.
Let's see how he feels in ANOTHER few months.

Sorry i don't want to bang on, but you're bitching about a bank not upholding something mentioned during a phone conversation, rather than a written contract as part of a defined product.
In my eyes you don't have a leg to stand on, and any amount of the bank WILL do this and that will only compound your frustration.

So if they have gone against something they have said on the telephone make a written complaint requesting a copy of the transcript from the recorded telephone conversation giving them the time and date it took place. Then see what their position is regarding what was said vs what was done.

If an employee at the bank gives incorrect advise directly to a customer which is acted upon the bank is liable for that employees advice as will be backed up by recorded telephone conversations which I believe all banking institutions do.
