Yesterday I lost the love of my life, Carmen
#61
This is so sad, I am 61 and have known and lost a lot of friends and relatives over the years, the closer they were, the worse the pain.
You will have her memories forever.
If it's any help, things will get better after the funeral, you will feel different and will be able to cope better with your life.

How tragic and what an awful shock for you and her family.
You could not have done any more for her, she was in hospital and surrounded by professionals and they could not save her, what more could you have done that they couldn't? No one expects a thirty year old to have a CA, you could not have predicted what was going to happen, please don't think you are somehow to blame.

Absolutely tragic and as others have said words fail me too really in being able to say anything of any meaning. One thing I will add is I agree with those saying being on here can be a release, it can help just by posting your experience and getting it off your chest in a way perhaps you can't do with family or friends. All the best.

This reinforces that old phrase "live every moment as it may be your last...." terrible and devastating news - just hope the OP is now with his family at this tragic time..

So sorry to hear your tragic news, life just isn't fair. I lost my younger sister a few years ago, she was only 44, you must be feeling terrible. Hang in there buddy and stay close to your family and friends.

That is very bad, such a young age.
Recently lost a very close aunt to cancer, kind of expected it. Doesnt make it any better being prepared for it.
Since then i have been getting in touch with people and family that i havent seen for a long time. Kind of makes you realise that with everything else going on nothing is more important than those close to you.
As above deepest condolencies but it will get better.
I have been with my Mrs for nearly 8 years and despite all the ups and downs i dont know what i would do if i lost her.
Make sure you have people around you to help you through it and go out and live life, your always have the memories.

So sorry for your loss and 30 is no age at all, I should know I'm forty.
As above, rely on your family and friends and remember her fondly, celebrating her life.

Thanks to everyone that has posted.
We had the Coroners verdict yesterday after the post mortem. Sadly she was born with a Coarctation of the Aorta, a narrowing of the Aorta artery, which ruptered after a blood test on Tuesday.
I suppose this is why it was never picked up, even after three professional's were visited between last Saturday and Tuesday. I feel a bit better now I now exactly what it was that has taken her from me.
I have told her sister and brother to get checked out privately as soon as possible.
Thanks,
Steve
