At least you can stop having those thoughts going through your mind about if you could of done something, nobody could of known about it pal, nothing worse than punishing yourself in situations like this, what happened to her and what caused it was out of your hands.
Its going to be hard for you no doubt about that, but hopefully with time the pain will ease.
Again so sorry for your loss...

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.
I lost my Dad to a aortic aneurysm back on the 14th of February 2010. He was otherwise fit and healthy but that day was complaining that he had pulled a muscle in his stomach /groin area. A few hours later he was dead.
I urge anyone with a history of this condition to get checked out, especially if you smoke heavily.

Sorry to hear about this
For those unlucky to have to go through things like this each person copes with it differently, so do what feels right for you.
You seem to be very strong and I am sure she would be proud of you.

So sorry to hear of your loss.
My sister in law's husband died suddenly in his early thirties, they had only been married for 10 weeks. He was a very fit sporty person but had a heart defect that wasn't noticable unless he'd had specific tests done.
There is a charity called CRY (Cardiac Risk in the young) http://www.c-r-y.org.uk/ that campaign for screening for the early signs of heart disease. They also have a very good berevement service for those affected by the sudden loss of a loved one.
Our family now do all our charity runs/walks etc for CRY and have an account set up in memory of her husband (Dave Harrop) - once a certain amount is raised we can choose to have a mobile screening service go to the local schools in Dave's home town.
Carmens relatives should get checked out ASAP - it is now free for them on the NHS.
I have seen first hand how dreadful it is for a partner to lose somebody so young like this, I urge you to talk to CRY regarding their berevement service.
