My last 3:
E91 330D Touring - easy to see why some motoring press called it " best car in the world"
123D coupe - twin turbo remapped to 250bhp, the look on peoples faces!
Cooper S - made me smile every time I got into it.
My 1st 3:
Vx Viva HA - boxy little thing with about 3HP
Triumph Vitesse convertible - overdrive on 3rd and 4th.
Mk1 Cortina GT - Lotus Cortina 'lookalike' in white with green side stripe
Aahhhhh, those were the days.........NOT.

Started in an 1100 Escort Mk 1 - awesome car, far quicker than my bungey (and didn't have to be push started). It could also p!ss all over a Viva
VW 1500cc powered Beach Buggy - never experienced handling like it (until.....)
Hillman Imp van, as means of transport for my mobile disco
Mk 2 Cortina 2000S - had acquired a girlfriend
Escort Mexico
Opel Kadett 1.3 SR, originally owned by Lady Hesketh
Saab 900 Turbo (Mk 1)
Cavalier 1600 (after Saab got written off, having been almost bulldozed from behind while I was in it. Walked away, says a lot for Saabs)
Saab 900 Turbo (Mk 2)
BMW 528M (a rarity/special apparently)
1.2 Nova (after the BM got nicked and written off after a fight with the law, and the fact swmbo started learning to drive)
1.6 Cavalier (she learned to drive and we discovered how to have children)
Catalunya #193 (Beach Buggy Syndrome finally replaced)
Renault 25 (after the Cat's lease term was up)
24V Probe
'95 WRX (Cat Syndrome replaced)
before currently a T20 Hawk (onset of Subaru obsession).

I was on my way back to camp in it one night when the throttle cable snapped. So I tied a piece of string to the throttle body, fed it between bonnet and wing, then thru open window and got back pulling the string to accelerate! The joys of motoring eh.

I have owned over 20 cars so not gonna bore you but have owned 4 original minis, a gold maestro Vanden plas, at uni which had electronic dash and an old womens voice to tell me to fasten seatbelt or was on low fuel , very funny but...awful, many gti's, beetle, Nissan 300ZX, bmw z4 and my last one was an audi TTS, fast but dull. Much prefer my blobeye sti now

Everything could **** over my Viva! But it does make me laugh (now).

something along the lines of this... 1998 P11 Nissan Primera 2.0 Wagon in some dull dark grey.
Whilst not a stunning car..
I have to admit, the SR20DE was a cracking engine that liked to rev' and not a bad steer. 240k Km on it and used zero oil., started everyday first time every time (even at -25'c)
Would tow anything I could fit on the trailer.
The boot (wagon) was HUGE, great when the kids had been at the beach (in winter) n were covered in muck, they could climb into the back, off with the wellies n water-proofs then chuck um in the back seats..
Did I mention it never got cleaned inside or out till the week I sold it.. totally a dirty boys transportation device.
Sold it for the same amount I bought it for 14 months prior. (but with 4 new summer tyres)
If I needed another shed, I would get another without doubt
Before that.....
well at same time as my (still current) Caterham 7 HPC 2.0 (190Hp)
Also my (still current) company lease Pug 308 SW (child transport)
before that, Mazda MPV, handed back to dealer after 3 months
before that Caterham 7 1.6 XFlow (160Hp)
at same time as (from new) Subaru 06 Forester X
before that 1991 Westfield SEiW
at same time as (from new) Peugeot 106
before that 1984 Ford Mk III Escort
Been lucky enough to have 2-3 cars most of my life.. only when in the Navy did I not have 2 cars, but as I was away 6 months a year. 'twas pointless

Ginge, what was the Sapphire like - fast (for the time)? Std, RWD had 204bhp; 4WD 220, IIRC?
Was it really tail happy?
Did it have one of those ridiculous dustbin-like (c.7"+ dia.!) tailpipes, that seemed to be exclusively the preserve of Southend cruisers of the 90s?!
