My history is a bit rubbish lol

Before my WRX, 2001 Renault Scenic
Before that, 1998 Renault Scenic
Before that, 2004 MG ZS (which I miss like mad)
Before that, 1995 Fiat Punto 1.1
And my first car was a Rover 100 1.1 which I loved!!!

How did you rate the performance and handling?

Performance wise, I loved it. 240bhp in a car weighing about 1250kg. Showed up most turbo hatches. Handling was unreal, better than the Hawkeye STI I've replaced it with but I did fiddle with the Hondas suspension.

Mugen front shocks/ Koni yellows at the rear
Spoon springs
Eibach rear camber arms and front bolts with geo setup
Cusco ARBs front and rear
Hardrace droplinks
LSD as standard obviously

Cool.

Yep, they're amazing fun, Honda VTECs.

In hindsight, and despite the VTEC, how did you rate the Civic's 'thin' NA torque, when compared to the Scoob? Chalk and cheese?

They're not as bad as people make out tbh. I had an EP3 before the FD2 which was about the same power but didn't feel as quick. Honda did a great job with the gearing and final drive selection on the FD2 and even FN2. The ratios are better matched to the engine.

The Scoob I've bought is allegedly 365bhp... not convinced it's as much as that personally but it's brisk. It is 240kg heavier than the Civic which I dare say dampens down the extra power.

I like the almost perfectly spaced progression.
(Annoying that it wasn't a MY98 Turbo).

If you cut IFG in half, you'd see the circular letters:
S U B A R U

Its a habit thats hard to kick. I can't remember the times that I've "definately" decided enough is enough and to buy another make only to be tempted back by that "burble".

With the the usual Subaru depreciation it would have been cheaper to have been a smack head for 17 years.

Previous to the Subaru was a Land Rover (which I'm keeping). My last proper performance car was back in 2009 when I sold my RS4

I had an Accord Type R before my 2002 Bug.

231/167lbft. An absolute belter of an engine! And even better handling.

An what I'm driving now
