I bought it when it was 11 months old so still under warranty and it had an intermittent misfire and was always pinking. Went into the main dealers numerous times but they could not sort the problem out. Other than that the car was OK I suppose.

ARRRR everyone has a price.
Think i might look at getting another scooby,i really miss them, always regret selling my last one.
I remember the new owner jumping in it with a big grin, started it up and drove off,i could hear that burble from the engine becoming more distant as he drove off,i did shed a tear..

Worst car Mercedes A Class diesel, from new to 84k miles almost every bit of running gear was replaced including engine, gearbox & diff!
Best, or most reliable had to be Skoda Fabia vRS, never missed a beat in 7 years of ownership.
Impreza hatch is good fun, but potential engine are always at the back of my mind.

I have had loads of crap cars;
Metro 1275 sport - was my first car, loved it at the time cost me £4750 to buy it and £1700 to insure it. It eventually rusted away to nothing.
Saab 9000s - Thought this would be a quick car because it had a turbo. Wrong.....
Rover 220ti coupe - reasonably quick car in a straight line, but almost put me in a coffin on a couple of occasions. Bought it only because I liked how it looked.
Ford Mondeo V6 - shed, was never away from the dealer / garage
Best;
The best cars get kept, I still have these apart from the corolla and Bluebird.
Nissan Bluebird 1.6LX - the T12 engine from nissan was bombproof. It wasn't a fast car in any gear, but it was comfortable and reliable, covered 250,000 in its lifetime, only scrapped it last year.
Toyota Corolla Twin Cam (AE86) - awesome fun car.
Legacy 3.0R Spec B - in my opinion one of the most capable, and best spec'd family saloons out there - my wife uses this as her daily drive.
My Impreza - started out as a standard turbo 2000, has had a few wee modifications here and there to improve what was a great car in standard form.
Seat Leon 1.9STdi - the only car I have ever owned from new - has never let me down and with 175,000 miles on the clock, still returns 55mpg.
MX5 - This was my wifes car until our kids were born, I bought the Legacy for her, and this is now mine, great fun car to drive in BRG - anyone who mentions girls car or comments about hairdressers, has clearly never owned or driven one.
Porsche 944 S2 - 100% original and in concours condition, with only 38,000 on the original engine and gearbox. If I could have a glass wall built into my garage I would put this car behind it, and look at it all day.

Best - I think I would have to say my first scooby - '99 STI Type R. I was only 23 at the time so saved my **** off for a while to buy it. I did keep worrying about "what if" it goes wrong etc could I afford to repair it but one of the best decisions I ever made. It had a few nice mods by previous owner and I had it for nearly 3 years and it was used every day and was 100% reliable.
Then went from that to a Civic Type R, had that for about 4 years (again was 100% reliable), wasn't too worried about selling it but just got to the point of fancied a change.
Then decided to get another Scoob
This time a 2004 STI Blob eye, no issues with this one either, but only had it for just under 2 years this time. Although it was a nice car I don't think it probably had the same appeal as the first scoob? The first one was a bit more of a "target" to aim for to be able to buy one where as the second one was a bit more of a "been there done it" type of feeling I think.
So sold that and now got an Audio A3 2.0 TFSI S-Line which I have had for nearly 3 years. This one’s a bit like the Honda, 100% reliable so far, not too boring and have no real urge to get anything else really, well wouldn't really know what else to get that’s within what I could afford.
Worst - Well, been quite lucky so far as haven't had any cars riddled with problems but I did have an old Golf and an old MK3 Escort to use for a month or two to go to work and back while looking for my next car. Each of these cost about £400 but I can't complain as they served their purpose and I even made a few quid when I sold them

Current 944 Cab, love it, a bit of a tarty old thing, bit whiffy and a bit wobbly but it is so engaging.
Our Galaxy has done a fine job of carting us around for the last 5 years, the C1 is new and fulfilling its brief of town/shopping car very well.
I loved all my Golf GTI's, favourite was the first mk1 1600, a revelation after 1.6 Capris.
Manta GTE holds good memories, as does my Montego GTI.
Pug 309 was a cheap and charming entry to the list.
Metro Clubman, did its job for a year without breaking.
Capri 1600 GT-XLR, the first car I had, had been around since I was three, still miss it, was on the road until 2008.
Fiat Coupe Turbo, mine was a heap, engine was on the way out, caused me no end of agro, probably my worst moment.
Volvo 850 T5 Estate, has to be a contender for the best.
Saab 9-3, older shape 2.0t, lower power model but it shifted nicely, enough to harass a CTR and a Cooper S, except in bends, comfy and still had some element of Saabness about it, that must be up there among the best, never missed a beat.
Saab 9-3 Aero, later shape, not a bad car, ride a bit hard, crap on fuel but really quick with a remap.
Polo 1050 "Breadvan", austerity/utility motoring at its best, a box on wheels
Golf 1.8CL Mk3, bought new, nice to have a new car but so dull
Fiat 500, old shape, had two (wifes idea) generally an unreliable death trap but I have a certain fondness for them, can be great fun.
VW Sharan, another bought new, not a patch on the later shape Galaxy that replaced it, trim was crap, quality not good, air con failed as did a few suspension components but did its job economically.
Capri Laser 1.6, looked great, sooooo slow, 73 wheezy bhp

Actually, can I move my Corrado to the second worst car I ever owned, I forgot about the brief spell I ran a Corsa whilst learning to be an ADI. It might not have broken down, but was awful, woeful, dreadful, terrible, soulless, boring, detached, vague, uninteresting......

(not my pic)
The Corrado may have cost more to keep running than the Hadron Collider, but at least it was fun to drive and great to look at.

I think one of my worst was a pretty original VW beetle which was a death trap on the bends on a wet day! It was so old that it had a twin rear window.
The best fun car was another original Lotus Cortina Mk 1 which I souped up to a high degree and did a bit of work to the suspension. The performance for those days was difficult to beat and the handling and roadhandling was quite amazingly good.
I wish I still had it!

Worst car: Has to be the Yugo 45 I had for a few months. Utter POS. At 65 on the A3 I thought it was going to fall apart. It really was unutterably crap.
Best car: Must be my MY99 wagon which I've had from new :-)

Worst car - 1997 Astra MK3 - no redeeming features whatsoever apart from not having to walk. Hateful car. Guy I sold it to used to work for Vauxhall and loved them - each to their own.
Best Car - MY00 UK Turbo - Simply wonderful. Huge mistake to sell.

My worst was either the Ford Escort Eclipse or the Orion 1.6i Ghia I had after it (although the Ghia handled like it was on rails after the Spax suspension was on it).
My best was always having this choice every morning when I woke up:

I've had some bad cars in my time (most were bad tbh);
My mum bought us a Talbot Horizon 1.3L as we were learning to drive at the same time, I was 17 and she was on her 4 or 5 attempt at learning - it was ok but shortly after passing my test I traded it in for a ...
Lada Samura 1.3, the engine died after 45,000 miles but a while before that the hand brake handle broke off, it was only a light alloy.
I then got a Toyota Carina II 4 door saloon, it was a good car but it blew the head casket and had to be skimmed several times before needing a new engine. I found out one day on a tight wet road that such a big car could not fly very well as it ended up in a field, luckly on all 4 wheels so I picked up the pieces and drove it home. It sat in my parents driveway for several months until it was taking away to car heaven.
After that I got an Escort 1.3 Cosmopolitan, it was ok but had no power whatsoever dut to the 1.3 engine. This car was only a stop gap until I could afford something else as I had just started a new job, a year later I got my scooby.
Best car is my Scooby, it may only be a 1.6GL but I love it, I've had it for 14 years but over the last 3 years it has been off the road more than it has been on it due to several accidents and me taking my time to fix it, hoping to get it back on the road before the winter comes in.
I am also currently driving (but don't own so they don't reaaly count) a Pug 206 1.4 hdi that I have on long term loan from my mum until I get the scooby back on the black stuff , it's ok and the best thing is it's a diesel as I'm going about 75 miles a day commute. I also occassional drive a Citreon C4 Grand Picasso VTR+ when the girlfriend lets me or I take her out anywhere, it's her motobility car and great when we take the family out and it's huge boot can take her wheelchair without folding it down (just fold down the handles due to it's height) amd still have room for the dogs or the number of shopping bags that we return with.

My worst car has to be my 1.0 metro that was my first car, I also had a SAAB 900 turbo that I didn't like and I only kept that 5 weeks.
My favourite car is probably still this
![](http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3/legacyturbo/Carlton12v.jpg)
I only paid £300 for it and it went sideways everywhere because for £300 I didn't care about it!
It was great fun to drive and I really rated the handling and the rear diff was nice and tight. I wish I'd never sold it to be honest
