Honestly, even our once great TV is getting more and more like America's crap. Where they have to have a (fake) 'explosive narrative' and repeat everything after every ad break etc. Why does almost everything in TV have to be aimed at the lowest common denominator of society!!! In a vain attempt to try to hold those ****in' retards' attention, that's what. And I... HATE... it.
This prog would be good, if it was treated factually and maturely...

The amount of times ive painted a car only to find I've sprayed over a massive rag ive left in the middle of the roof and forgotten to mask the wheels up, Christ this programme is sooo staged it's unreal, I was cringing all thru it,
I'll end up watching it next week tho probably, ha ha

I thought it was every so slightly less tedious this week, but probably because i knew what to expect. The cloth on the roof and the pretend firing in the pub were the low points.
I thought the £5k valuation was fair, but having asked them about the bumpers, the sun roof, whether the engine had been rebuilt etc, i'd have liked to have known how those factors influenced the final number. Did they make it higher or lower? (good game good game).

Strippers on the other hand was utter utter garbage. I was stunned just how bad it was. I only watched it because I thought the Jap cars would be up first. Even the narration was bad.

3/4 of one episode was enough, didn't watch the last one and won't be watching any more. Watched Homeland and Kevin's Shed instead.

I am an ex-MG mechanic from when these cars were new, they were a bag o'sh1te then never mind the condition of them now.

er... no thanks, I know what you've done to it.
unless i missed it - no real engine clean out and the back suspension just welded back on - presumably onto the coroded metal that broke off in the first place.....

I watched the MG one last night. The thing which really annoys me about the programme is the supposed "facts" about the cars. "The MGB was one of the first cars in the world to use a unified chassis" - I have no idea which was the first monocoque car but the Morris Minor introduced in 1948 was a monocoque and they had built over a million of them by 1961. When the Triumph Herald was introduced in 1959 the remarkable thing about it was the it still had a separate chassis so pretty much every car was monocoque by 1962 when the MGB was introduced.
"The MGB's rear suspension was its secret weapon in "rally races"" - Oh really? Leaf springs date back to horses and carts.
"The MGB was muscled aside by cheaper Japanese sportscars" - would that be the Mazda MX5 for example? Introduced in 1989 therefore a good 7 years after the MGB was finally killed.
All a load of cobblers.

Three blokes @10 per hour / 8 hour days, for two weeks 2400
Paint sundries, filler, paint, thinners etc ~500
New interior 1~000
New tyres ~200
So there's £4800 there before you add any parts, time/diesel spent finding the car and the parts, workshop running costs, wheel refurb, new rocker box, engine service...

Was it really a competitor for the MGB? Not in the UK at any rate. It may have been in the States but I wonder how many people who started off looking for an inexpensive roadster would end up with a more expensive coupé?

Think the MG rear suspension "falling out" was somewhat staged. No sign of the prop shaft coming down with it. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but the bushed ends of the leaf springs had been CUT OFF!!! What a bunch of F*****G C***TS if they think we seriously believe this cr@p. Honestly, Jeremy Kyle is more believable....

The windscreen being accidentally thrown across the room was just great.... The fact that it wasn't even the same windscreen as the one they showed in the previous scene just confirmed that this is about as fact based as tThe Magic Roundabout.
