Too fat to fly ?

Im 6'5'' and the mrs is 6'0'' .... Both of us are skinny, but flying is a ballache as theres never enough leg room in cattle class!
You end up straddling the seat in front (knees jammed into the spikey metal bit between seats) and if someone in front reclines it becomes pretty bloody uncomfortable! The mrs particularly suffers with bad backs for weeks after an uncomfortable flight, which is an **** when your only abroad for a week or so.
That said, we always respect the fact the person in front has the right to recline and try our best to accomodate by switching seats or chatting with the person to see if theres owt we can do etc! If that doesnt work and theyre obviously just a selfish ****, i jam the recline function in front of the mrs with my knee. It hurts a bit, but they stop trying to recline after a few minutes. We used to get to the airport an hour or so early to be at the front of the queue to request a bulkhead seat to avoid this, which used to be fine! But for the last year or so we've always been told the bulkhead seats are reserved for families with small children ..... why the **** do small children need alot of leg room?
As for fattys .... fattys that are fat through theyre own doing (like in the ops post, if theyre constantly eating its obviously theyre own doing), how can it not be obvious when you cant see your feet anymore you should lay off the fookin cake!
People who have a genuine health issue (like the fella in the last photo .... hes got to have giganticism or something) deserve alot more tolerance than the typical pie eater.

Every single time this happens i politley tap them on the shoulder and ask them if they can put their seat back up, as my knees were already forced again the back of the seat before they reclined, and now are squashed to death!
Ive not once had a considerate person willing put their seat back up, everytime it turns into an arguement, yet im always very polite.
Once when the lady infront (who was of german origin and did not speak the best english) did this, i politely asked her to put back up, she them turned on b***h mode and continued to shout at me at full volume, very embarrassing! I just dung the help button, and when a member of cabin crew came over i explain the situation politely, who then turned to the woman in front and explained the seats should only be reclined out of consideration to the passenger behind. By the way my fiance was pregnant at this time which didnt help matters, and this year we had our baby with us who was 8 months old, and was in my lap at the time the gentleman reclined his seat.... did not please my fiance!
Flying is a huge dreaded affair for me every single time, as the same thing happens. If the person was polite then i would come to an agreement if i could, but they can see my knees forced up against their seat if they so wish, out of respect you would like to think they would not recline.

I'm also in the 6ft4 club and it's one of the reasons i avoid flying, even though i don't mind it. And when i do have to, i'm like a coiled cobra on the website waiting for the check-in system to open so i can bag an emergency exit seat.

I hate it when people recline the chair, all the way, the minute they can for the entire duration, it has a variable recline, you dont have to do it all the way, I had some woman do it to me recently, meal had been served but being a bit precious she "didnt do airline food" and wanted to sleep so launched her chair back whilst I was eating mine, no warning, I just then, as is typical took this as my cue to fart with inpunity and use the chair to hoik myself up, which I would never normally do.
I have a bit of extra weight but I put a bit on, I make an effort to lose it, I have put on half a stone being in the States for a month, so off it comes, when you cant wipe your own **** its time to quit the pies, a couple of stone affects me, I go over a certain weight and things become an effort, life is easier and more fun when slim, how the mahoosive ones can cope, I dont know

I don't quite get it, surely the seat back is above the knees so what difference does this make
I extend under their seat probably into their footspace, but hey they've extended backwards , 5'11” i am

Normal cattle class planes that i travel with (usually thompson/first choice or easyjet), knees are touching, rephrase that, pushing the person infronts seat. Theres no a chance in high heaven that i could stretch my legs to underneath their seats, legs are just too long
.I try grab an aisle seat, stretch my legs into the aisle where possible. Although this is usually where you rammed in the shin with the food/goods trolley

I'm just over 6' and I have a nightmare flying in comport so I can understand what it must be like for guys in the 6'5" region.
What makes it worse for me is all our flights are long haul so as well as never being comfortable I get absolutely bored 5hitless! .. I mean REALLY bored.
For the tech us human now have flying is FAR too slow.
We tried flying business class and it's sooooo much better. It's not as expensive as first class which is silly money but Business class may be an option for you big guys. You get a whole lot more leg room and it's generally much more spacious.
The new 767 Boeings do offer a fair bit more room in regular class too although you would only board these planes for long haul flights.
As for the budget airlines expect to be as comfortable as a rear gunner in a Lancaster.

The armrest is the definitive gauge for a Customer of size. It serves as the boundary between seats, which measure 17 inches wide. Customers who are unable to lower both armrests and/or who encroach upon any portion of the adjacent seat should proactively book the number of seats needed prior to travel.
I flew to Spain earlier in the year with Monarch and booked their extra legroom seats which are pretty good if you are tall. However, a enormous guy ended up sitting next to me in the middle seat, so I ended up having to lean into the aisle for most of the flight. He must have been close to 30 stone, completely out of breath after climbing the steps to get on the plane, saddlebags over the armrest into my space and elbows wedged into my side. What really p***ed me off was the fact that he was travelling with two mates who had sensibly decided not to sit next to him.
