Since it's her area get her to show you around, or ask her whats happening or if there is somewhere she would like to go, shows her you value her opinion and are considerate, also has the possibility of making her feel more at ease in a familar place as well as taking the onus off you.

I would ask her if she has any idea what she would like to do.
Go carting is a good idea, I know I would really enjoy that, and if she is an outdoor type, maybe some geo catching or similar? Take a (hip) flask and a picnic and see where you end up.
All the fresh air and walking is bound to be fun

Im married now near 3 years, with my wife just over 6 years........
I made a choice for our first date... I made a choice to see how much she likes me, or was she after me for money or what!!!!
I took her out with a group of friends of mine who worked in a strip club! We went to the strip club first and then we all went out to a night club!
To be honest she hated being in the strip club, and I dont blame her! But at least i knew she was actually interested enough in me for who i am!
Does that make sense??
As the voice of experience here's a bit of advice! 'Dont do what I did, you'll never hear the end of it. Find somewhere near by that's Interesting and out of the ordinary, and take her there"

Personally, I think your best bet is a pub meal, so you can talk to each other. A film would mean you can't talk. Same with Go-Karting. A walk is out, because it will be dark at that time of night. Unless you go at the weekend.

As the time and the season is not the best (cant really go for a nice walk at 8.30 mid october LOL) My 3 choices for her to chose from, yeah,i`m gonna throw the ball in her court a bit (is that what they call it ha ha )
Theres a bowling alley near her so thats a go
Vince freeman is playing in a venue near her (a guy from BBC The voice)
a Pub meal
Or the really boring one if she isnt upto going out, back to mine for a movie etc etc
If its meant to be the date itself shouldnt matter, its the company,so i dont think what ive chosen to choose from isnt a bad list of things to do, so sod it LOL
