Anyway, with regards to twitter, did Hamilton not use his child brain before posting on said site.
Especially with him having so many followers.

Lewis Lewis Lewis.

I am a hardcore Lewis fan, but he really is not helping himself on this one, and the telemetry data.

First of all, the telemetry data was not necessarily public information as it was open to the FIA and interested parties anyway. What he showed proved that the team had messed up yet again, but he SHOULD NOT have done it. This opened the doors for the haters to once again call him disloyal, petulent and all the other names under the sun. He should have dealt with it behind closed doors.

Now the twitter issue. Lewis himself did not use the term 'dis' or 'disrespect'. That was used by the media. What Lewis said, rather badly is that he thought they were team mates for 3 years and had mutual respect.

We all know Lewis and Jenson are NOT friends outside the paddock or PR events, but they do get on - just! If you listen to interviews etc, you will actually find that Lewis is more of a team player than Jenson is. On the outside, they are protrayed to be great mates - so it's a bit of a blow when your supposed team mate/buddy never followed you in the first place, but showed excitement in Perez joining the team. JB also promptly followed Perez. Not a big issue to the rest of the world, but it showed JB had no interest in following Lewis at all.

This twitter issue was actually raised by the media, and when Lewis noticed the mistake, he quickly said 'My Bad - or oops, my mistake' to you and me. End of story.

People forget that JB was a playboy celebrity a few years ago while not performing great. Coulthard was also a 'celebrity'. We don't know what goes on with some of the iother drivers, so it is hard for people to just blame Lewis for his lifestyle when he does not blow money, does not have serial girlfriends, looks after his brother and has been snapped at a 'wild party' once or twice - during the break.

Furthermore, imagine how he must feel being in a team where he feels he has little more to offer, and JB is playing mind games etc. Whitmarsh is also wishy washy.

I think Lewis needs to grow up a bit and remain the positive exciting driver that he is. He should not wear his heart on his sleeve, but be a bit more open.

I also think the Mercedes move is good for him as he will have the chance to use his head, challenge himself and apply what he has learnt from McLaren.

Give the boy a break.

My tuppence worth.

i quite liked him in his early days, what really made me dislike him was that"is it because im black comment"

showed what a ***** he really is.

i met his brother at the btcc at rockingham a few weeks back, he was actually a really nice guy and good luck to him in his racing.

his father was there too and he comes across the same as lewis tbh, had his big aston parked in the middle of the road with a man minding it.
not wanting to have to deal with the scum that is the general public.

Tommy mate, I cringed when he made that comment. I believe he did not mean it, but it was a MASSIVE gaffe that was totally uncalled for - in a sport where the powers that be are not acquainted with urban language. Most people understood it immediately - but it was too late.

Also, the media will quickly hype it up etc. This again opens doors for his critics to attack.

He is emotionally honest, and has a personality unlike some of the drivers. He just has to think a little bit more before he speaks. Lord knows what happens behind closed doors.

That was a very stupid comment to make, and I hope he never makes it again.

He has been this industry for years, so he should know how to act.
May be he is going through his 'playboy' stage. Difference with Button was that it didn't cost him world championships.

I want to like the guy as I am all for supporting the Brits. I do not support arrogant idiots and that is exactly the kind of image he is portraying.

I would give him a break if was his 1st, 2nd or even 3rd year in the sport. But he is nearing the end of his 6th full season in Formula One.

As Schumacher has proven, you cannot beat time, so he needs to change his ways and fast!

i agree, it was obviously and ali g reference, but most of the world wouldnt have seen it so wouldnt understand it.

he just comes across as an arrogant, as does his father.. they may not be like this at all but having seen his dad at rockingham this was the impression i got of him.

parking his big car away from the general public with a minder, when platos car was in the car park with the plebs.

True, GH. Mate, even mine is wearing thin at times. He really has not helped himself - but again his current championship standing is not due to him this year. Maldonodo took him out, gearbox failure etc.

Last year he was a lunatic at times, but then again JB took him out in Canada.

Lewis really is on a last hope at Mercedes to tidy up his image and people's perception of him.

He should know that all eyes are on him, so act accordingly.

Wearing my new socks today. Bernd hasn't commented on them yet - thought we were teammates. Still gonna do my best tho.

My bad, turns out I wore a similar pair last week. Can't blame him for not noticing! I should be more adventurous with sock purchases!

im not so sure his image and people's perception of him matters.

i like most people dont like him, but he is a very good driver and this is what mercedes want.

he needs to ditch nicole sh1tslinger as seeing her pouting around in the pits is annoying too.

How come?
Are you referring to jealousy (because they're not ******** her) or a dislike to her?

PMSL @ Chris Brown. You are right, it seems she is a drain on him but only he can make that decision when the rose tinted glasses fall off. As Urban said, Time will tell. I'm sure we all know someone who has dated a sket or gold digger at some point.

PS TubbyTommy - love your signature lol.

i think its the perception of her being a diva and general pita, but you cant help thinking when you see her in the pits she is only there to further her career and couldnt give a toss about lewis or whats going on in the race.

then you see jenson and jessica, she seems really down to earth and in love with jenson and vice versa, lewis and sh1tslinger just seems fake.

Or Jenson and Jessica play the media well - as we know Jenson does (dinner with journalists etc).

Truth is we can't control any of these people, and as they don't pay my mortgage or fuel bill it's not that important. lol

Ok, we get you like Lewis and don't like bad being spoken of him.
But the truth is that Jenson is liked by Mclaren, the F1 paddock and the general public.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about Lewis right now.

Jenson doesn't have to have dinner with journalists, but he realises that F1 is a show and he is only giving the public what they want.

Lewis just doesn't get it.

I agree, in the grand scheme of things, this subject isn't important. But no hobby really is, is it?
I follow F1 religously, have been to the British GP 3 times (including this year - yes, I am still drying out! ) So enjoying discussing the sport with like minded people.

So in a way, it is important to me.
Especially as it was always something my Dad and I shared before he had a life changing stroke back in 2005. I haven't been able to have a proper conversation with him since, but I always see his face light up when I start talking about F1.

@GH - sorry to hear about your Dad. Hope you dry out soon - I hear Dimplex Heaters have a sale on.

You are right, I like Lewis and I try to defend him - or read more into criticism before comments etc.

His actions are inexcusible, and I cant defend them - I guess I failed at trying to explain what might be the cause.

He could learn from Jenson in terms of behavior. Jenson for example finishes in more races. As for being a fan, as much as it hurts - I can't help liking Alonso for never being too far from the action even with a bad car. Kimi is exciting to watch and listen to.

Grosjean needs a really good polish on his race craft etc.

I love the sport dude, but I can't help but try to avert some of the Hammy bashing - even though he does not help himself at times.

J :P

Don't worry, I am a closet Alonso fan. He is fast - everywhere. He never has an off day.
The only blot on his school report is 'crash-gate'. To me, if a team mate had crashed out deliberately to allow me to win, I would not regard it as a proper win.
If he didn't know though, I can see why he thinks otherwise.

Vettel is super quick but can't work with a bad car. Grosjean - hmm, still not decided yet.
He needs to look at what has happened and understand the number of points he has thrown away.

Button is like a fine wine. He seems to get stronger every year. I was worried by his performance in Canada this year, but thank god it was just a car setup issue.

Very much spoilt, his Father behaves in the same way at times.
Especially when things aren't maybe going quite as well as they could be.
