Actually, Jenson DID follow Lewis a while ago on twitter.

I am waiting to see the daggers thrown for Lewis' performance today.

Regarding Mercedes, if Lewis said he expects to win next year, he will be labelled a big headed petulant child. The guy just cannot win.

I really cannot wait for him to leave McLaren. He sure has made mistakes - but only he knows the wall his back is leaning on. People whinge about being disloyal to McLaren - the boy gave them 14 years and is 100% committed on the track. They have made their millions out of him.

Fresh start Lewis, improve on your mistakes and stay positive.

F**k the haters!

So what if Button did follow him? Are you saying that Twitter following dictates whether a person respects another?

The truth hurts doesn't it?

Probably should have stayed in his head rather than coming out, a bit like the "Is it cos I is black?" statement.

Well I have to say that it seemed an even handed set of replies and he was honest when he said he did not reckon to learn anything by watching his team partner from the sidelines.

Would someone be able to elucidate on the reasons it should be taken to prove he is a "****"?

I don't hate him and neither do I set him on a pedestal. I will say however that he is a very good F1 driver.

Simply because his name is Lewis Hamilton.

Neither can I to be honest. He had just been taken out and could have been a lot more animated in his reply.

But as I said earlier, the things that Hamilton will be remembered for this season are:

-Tweeting Mclaren telemetry - to show everyone why Button was quicker
-Dumping the team that supported him through his career
-Accusing Button of being disrespectful for 'unfollowing' him on Twitter
-Saying that his new team are unlikely to improve next season.

No other champion acts like this. It just stinks of the attitude 'I'm the best, everyone else - Bow before me!'

He has never had a bad car throughout his career. May be his time at Mercedes will be the making of him.

His car after he won the championship wasn't good and has been a struggle to get back to form. "Dumping his team" - really? Its sounding tad desperate and childish to me. Accusing someone by mistake and then apologising. Im sure non of us have ever done that have we, that must be what qualifies us all to condemn him so.

No other champion? Alonso - he was a perfect model of champion wasnt he and Schumacher never drove with that 'I'm the best, everyone else - Bow before me!' (or get knocked off the track) attitude did he?

The tweeting telemetry wasnt too clever though but thats about it as far as I can make out.

All in all I think post 159 is summing it all up perfectly, I just dont understand what the underlying cause is though. It just seems that people are not prepared to divulge and instead use a few feeble trivial events in having a good old Hamilton bashing session.

Looks like he has missed a trick with Vettel now moving to Ferrari in 2014, leaving a gaping hole at Redbull to fill.
You couldn't make it up.

That is quite comical, it would have been good to see him in a Red Bull.

Name one thing that Alonso has said/done this year that would make you question his character. Lewis has tweeted Mclaren telemetry, dumped the team that supported him through his career, accused Button of being disrespectful for 'unfollowing' him on Twitter (it is irrelevant that Button never followed him in the first place) and has now said that his new team are unlikely to improve next season. It doesn't take a genius to work out that Lewis is a guy that 'does' before he 'thinks'.

He is actually starting to become a bit of an embarrassment for the UK.

As for surfing the net waiting for him to slip up again.....I follow F1 avidly.
So it is obvious that I am going to spot his foul ups soon after he makes them.

In the 20 years that I have been following the sport, I can't remember any other driver being as silly as Lewis is being right now.

I am not denying his is quick. Alonso/Hamilton/Raikkonen and to some extent Vettel are all up there.

Just look where they are in the championship though.
His antics off track 'are' effecting his racing. Fact.
Is this the same Alonso who threw his toys out the pram while at Mclaren ? remember him sitting in the pit box so his TEAM MATE couldnt beat him to pole lol lol
and the Vettel to Ferrari isnt new is it? so he hasnt missed anything really.

Not at all, GH. He is by no means God, but the guy gets shot at whatever he does - good or bad. That's the issue.

Old news. Vettel has had a pre-contract with Ferrari for at least a year.

This surprises me though because FA is better that SV and I assume will still have No1 status. Vettel would have No1 status with Red Bull with one of the Red Bull driver program lads in No2 - Riciardo or Vernge?

I would like to see MW move from Red Bull to Ferrari for 2014. A one year deal before going to V8 Supercars.

The "drama" of SV's tyres going off was tiresome yesterday. They were clearly fine.

He fuels it himself and its not helped by the persona he is creating either by himself or with influence from the management company that runs him. They know exactly what they are doing with him and he is in danger of losing sight of the racing and being swallowed up by his own fame.

Maybe a bit like Jackie Stewart. Up until him the drivers were racers first, stars second. It was Stewart that turned drivers into stars and it didn't sit well with all concerned. He proved them all wrong by winning championships.

I do hope LH can do the same thing, I have no dislike for him at all. My issue is more for him hoping he isn't making a rod for his own back and being a racing driver comes 2nd to the celebrity magazine lifestyle.

Completely agree.

I know there were 'rumours' that Vettel had a contract with Fezza for 2014, but this latest bit of news has come straight out of Ferrari themselves.

Would be good to see Vettel and Alonso at Ferrari.
Massa's never really been the same since the accident.

Anyway, back on topic
Hamilton's main problem is that he doesn't use his brain before he opens his mouth, or begins typing on twatter

I'm not going to say anymore on this thread regarding Hamilton.
It obviously upsets too many people.

On Massa though, Since Silverstone, Massa has been really strong and in the last few races, seems to be more or less on the same pace as Fernando. His race engineer even told him to slow down yesterday!

'Fernando.....Felippe is faster than you.....do you understand?'

Same pace - yeah, fair enough, but I'd say that's only because he's fighting for his job.

I don't believe that. You don't just up your driving all of sudden.
Something has clicked with Massa/car/tyres and it seems to be working.
