Yep! Drag your old man out tomorrow. Its fun to try out different frames, even if you eventually decide to buy them elsewhere. It also gives you good idea of what is best and most practical for you. For example, I like the look of chunky frames. But when I tried them on, my nose didn't like their weight. I have got myself some featherlight frames this time around. Have fun.

Ok, they do sell just one pair, too. Just get a 45 quido budget pair for yourself from them. That's even less than half of £125. John Banks may also be able to inform you how to get a pair for £18. Other than that, get your eyes tested again at some better than Speccy optician. 7 years is too long to leave your eyes untested unless you kept the same frame, and got the lenses changed. You are lucky if your prescription hasn't gone stronger in 7 years.

Now, if you say- "No, I only want the pair I have already got for last 7 years", then keep the bleddy pair, man! Just keep it.

Actually the right lens keeps dropping out so I guess it's time for a new pair

Clare, Duncan doesn't really need glasses. He only wears them to look intelligent.

OK, I've got some! Well, they're on order. Went to Tesco Opticians first and tried on loads, and guess what? The cheapest ones I tried on looked best, £37 plus £30 for the coatings. Bargain I thought, so had a look at the sunglasses as I wanted them as a second pair and they were £90. Decided to go and have a look at Boots and they had a nice pair for £49 and the sunglasses were £79, but with the sunglasses, I could choose another pair up to the value of £79 free, so got 2 pairs for £79 plus £30 for the coatings.... £109 for 2 pairs. What a bargain!

See! being able to try the frames on makes a hell of a difference! And, you even got them cheaper than online. Well done! Now we eagerly wait for your picture with your glassses on.

Wrinkles are irrelevant, Clare. Some people simply suit their glasses. Glasses are like accessories these days, anyway. Some students from my kid's Uni intentionally wear quite thick frames with huge lenses to look trendy. Some of them wear just the thick frames without the lenses for trend. One of her friends looks just like the skinny kid from Superbad film (The kid on left with MUSE t-shirt and glasses on).

I must have been lucky then.

How can they refuse when you have paid for the eye test though?
