If you have the time i'd take it further,******** when they send some letter back saying that not interested, probably think you'll just give up and forget about it,as you're one person against a big company...

It depends on what the damage is. If its a £10 bush then Id agree. If its something that might £500 then its worth pursuing.

I guess a suitable question is what damage can a sudden load striking from in font of the wheel cause? Wishbone? Strut mount? Prop shaft? I guess theres no telling hence my reason for wanting to cover myself should something expensive go.

Check the grant of planning permission (you should be able to find it on the local council web site). There will almost certainly be conditions in there about them ensure their vehicles do not drag mud and debris out on to the road. If you mention that to them and threaten to show your photos to the council planning department they will probably give in - otherwise they will be in trouble with the council and have to have jet washers and street washers going all the time.

Is the housebuilder a member of the Considerate Constructors Scheme or similar approved? If they are then report them down that route. They will have a sign on site with a contact telephone number.

You may find that a direct approach to the people responsible for the site work will do a bit of good.

A polite but positive start to the affair might just get you some compensation.

I have approached the site manager and the company via email courteously and informatively stating the facts and how I felt as thought the company should take responsibility but they are fobbing me off.

I will write back tonight but I havent heard any strange noises since the day before I started this thread so not sure if there is anything to pursue. I have mentioned to them that I don't want something to show itself later down the line that I will have to pay for. I would be surprised if no damage has been done (especially with Mercedes build quality) but not sure there is anything to see right now.
