Hope it is more reliable than the Top Gear reliabilty tests let on, for a prestige brand they never score to well. Alloys look gangster as well but other than that looks okay.

Yes me too, but then again nothing could be as unreliable as the 2003 STI I had so these tests don't always mean that a specific car will or will not be reliable

They sound better if you put a cross pipe in the exhaust, might look into that next year, but happy with it as it is for now.

Nice motor, Chris. I'd like to see the centres in silver, but that's easily sorted. Enjoy!

I doubt it, my fairly standard WRX had my father in laws C43 AMG with relative ease.
And the rust warnings are very very true. He sold his as the jacking point fell out! The arches were gone as well. He part ex'ed it to a dealer and the dealer even lost money selling it on.

Definitely far far better options for the money you've probably spent on it. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

there so fat and heavy they take 3 years to get to 60, so by that time the impreza will be gone even in a straight line, there just too slow.

Please don't take this the wrong way as it isn't a p1ssing up the wall contest, but this statement is nonsense. A standard WRX does 0-60 in around 5.7s and 0-100 in around 15s, the standard CL55K does those times in 4.8s and 9.9s, once rolling it's in a diffferent league to a WRX and seeing as I have driven both I think I am qualified to say wich is the (much) faster and it isn't the Subaru!

I've driven both, and witnessed both from driving the C43 and from my old WRX that off the line there literally was no comparison, the WRX didn't just get away quicker, it was practically gone before the C43 had started.
Now I understand yours is a 5.5 but I doubt there is much difference between the 2. This is from driving, not reading inflated figures in a brochure.
Had I known at the time how liable they were to falling apart I probably would never got in the death trap to be honest.

Don't get me wrong they are lovely looking car and refined to drive. Had you driven a scooby beforehand you'd know there was no comparison.

*Sorry forgot to add they are 2 different cars - one's a fast road, the other is more refined for the older gentleman. Speed for the AMG wasn't what it was made for.

Had I driven a Scooby beforehand???? I have a Scooby and it's my 5th having owned them continuously since 1996! Oh and please stop comparing a C43 with a CL55, they are totally different cars!

Personally I'd do something with the alloys.

Guy I work with has one of these - year, quick cars.
But show it a non dry road and its bloody useless.
He has gassed his tool, but its need attention now for rust on the front wings.

Pah! And I've got an F40 lol. So many people on t'internet have this, that and the other. I'm sorry but I find it very hard to believe you have driven, let alone ever owned a scoob judging by your opinion. I call custard/loaf on this one....

What is it with this site and liars at the moment?.

I doubt the cl is even his.

Don't worry about it mate, the guy thinks a C43 and a CL55K have similar performance, he writes nonsense and then calls me a liar... it's comical

I remember this site when it was full of petrolheads with knowledge aplenty and not just about Scoobs .... now look at it... sad really

Cheers banny, I just thought people might like to see the car, we are all interested in cars after all even if it isn't a Scoob in this case.

Didn't realise it would descend into accusatiosn of dishonesty LOL! SN is a peculiar place these days!

Thats a cool car in my opinion, I bet the classic Impreza feels really harsh to drive compared to the Merc.

Yeah I had the chance of a very good silver car but held out for black in the end!

Cheers The Impreza does feel more raw to drive, but very chuckable - it's just such a different car to the Merc, I like them both and vive le difference!
