Yes, but that could just as easily describe your posts on Lewis Hamilton for instance so I think you just have a perception issue amongst other things. Anyway this thread is about my new car and not about your opinion of me so we'll leave it there.

Look I wasn't going to push this as it is your job and all that and last week I was feeling charitable, but despite your proclamations rust is not an issue with these cars. The reason? Well most of the car is not made of a metal that can rust. There is a pillar/arch reaction issue fixed under warranty, but it isn't rust as the metal in question is aluminium. Most of the car is GRP, aluminium or magnesium, the only steel parts are the subframes and the rear of those on my car only suffered issues due to the car being jacked in correctly.

So sorry to p1ss on your chips and all that and I am sure you are a complete expert on Subarus, but maybe you need to stick to what you know before declaring a car primarily made of a metal that can't rust will rust

As I said wasn't going to push it, but as is usual on here people don't know when to quit!

I guess I'll never learn, I'm on my third Merc now and all have had rust issues that have proved difficult to deal with. Worse, Mercedes themselves are mostly unsympathetic when various body parts start to rot. It's a very common problem even on recent models. Other than that they've all been very reliable cars. When the bodywork has rotted away you'll still have a nice engine to sell on!

What this thread has shown is how little people on this board really know about anything car wise outside of Subaru!

Pass

He has been told by Merc that models after 2003 should not rust, but some still do.

Anyway, maybe yours won't - and keep an eye on that gearbox of yours too

You all need to chill the **** out, there's nothing wrong with slagging Impeza's off on a Subaru forum and then turning up in a blinged up Merc like a drug dealer on heat.

No definitely, there's nothing wrong with that.

1. Didn't make it up, simply relaying what I heard.
2. Didn't confuse it with a c class.
3. It says on the back of his cl55 amg.
4. Its MY2003 and its silver.
5. His wheels don't look daft and out of place.
6. It has gearbox problems again.

That is all

I think rust is the least of his problems right now based on the news he got last night about his dodgy gearbox
