scooby projects -1 stay away!

For what it's worth I'll thrown in my view.
From my experience with Keith, I can only tell you that he is a proper chap, friendly and helpfull. Regardless of "someone's opinion" that should not have gone public, clearly the op didn't have the ability to say so face to face at the time, as such we are all reading his keyboard warrior style "opinion" of Keith, or SP in general. We are all entitled to our own opinion, but exploiting on a forum!.!?! That's just wrong, especially for something so petty.
I've seen this type of Public Slander time after time on here, it's appalling. Who's next Scooby clinic? Roger Clarke?
Rant over....
Rob
Ps, as said we all have our view and are entitled to our opinion.

Just to throw another opinion in here for fairness I have had only good dealings with scooby projects over the last 2.5 years I have been using them. They looked after my classic and now look after my Blob STI, they are local to me but I could choose to use a very well known garage which isn't much further away but I don't as they charge more and I've been happy with all the work SP have carried out for me. I've always found Keith to be a friendly, helpful guy willing to give advice when asked. Why would someone respected like Bob Rawle map cars for Keith if he was a 'cowboy' as some on here claim?!?!?! I have no personal affiliation to Keith/Scooby Projects and no reason to be biased in their favour I am purely talking from my experience so I hope neutral readers of this post will take it seriously. I hate to see genuine people have their business slandered publicly like this, if you have an issue go and deal with it in person like any decent human being would do.

Hi all,
I am a new user on this forum and am going to see Keith next week to collect a car I have purchased. I would like to say that he has been 100% over the phone and seems very helpful. I appreciate that some people may have had issues with his company or even workmanship but I dont think, personally, that it is very professional for a forum to air these issues as it doesn't show it in a particularly good light. I would say that, if I had an issue, I would just mention it in a private message or indeed to the person concerned directly. If mal practics has been undertaken by the business concerned there are proper channels in which they can be dealt with. Personally, I would rather read that there was a problem and how it was dealt with. Public disagreements on forums do no one any good at all. There are very happy customers and customers who are not happy for whatever reasons. Without drawing conclusions and taking sides I would say that the matter concerned doesn't warrant all this and if someone called on my personal doorstep I wouldn't be happy at all. Please, in the interests of those of us who have just paid to join this forum, for its benefits and information, dont bring it down.
Deal directly with the problem, and then draw the matter to a close. I will make my own mind up (I'm 50+ yrs old so probably an old codger to you lot! but I do enjoy my cars and the scene around them). I appreciate that people want to give a "heads up" but there are better and less confrontational ways in which to do it. Anyway, I'm going back to trawl through the forum and learn a bit more about my Impreza's.

I too am 50+ and am a moderator on two Subaru forums.
The purpose of a thread like this is not to randomly pick on a business, in the same breath it would be incorrect to pretend to be happy whilst experiencing bad practice.
Forums are often read for advice and we all read threads hoping and assuming they contain true information.
All business's will have happy and non happy customers. Some will spend hundreds whilst others spend many thousands.
A regular service on a car is hard to get wrong. Big power engine builds and major works is something very different and needs to be left to the guys that have a good long term history.
When a forum bans a site sponsor it's a decision that will never be made without plenty of proven knowledge and much correspondence.
This can be read as advise or as a warning. Your choice.

If people still choose to use Sp then that's their choice but don't come back on here moaning about the quality of workmanship if it goes **** up.

Threads like this need banning. No proof.. no documents.. no recordings.. no physical evidence posted....
Legal minefield.. people posting need to beware forums and the post you make are admissible as evidence in slander and defamation litigation...
Irrespective or being true or untrue.

They were totally incompetent. Very serious and well meaning people with hard evidence tried to warn people about SP but other people said nonsense - SP are good guys.
End result - terrible work done on cars by someone who came from an IT background not a mechanics background, and people left thousands of pounds out of pocket as a result of their fraudulent behaviour.
There are very good reasons for threads like this to happen. All SP apologists should be ashamed of themselves if they are still trotting out this nonsense in light of all that came out at the end.

That's just one of many different things that robbing **** has done.

This is a good point. I run a forum for American vehicle owners and quite often in the past I have had to "tidy up" some posts that were deemed unsuitable.
It's not onlt the person posting that can be held accountable but also the person / persons who run the forum.
I bought a car from Keith recently which was no problems, thankfully. However, if there was a problem I would be taking it up directly and "should" someone be mentioning about the company would make a pm to the person.
The new guy (Adam) deserves a chance to try and make the business work. If Keith has "conned" people then they should take action with evidence against the man personally.
I appreciate if people have spent loads of money and got nothing for it they should go to citizens advice or a solicitor and take action.
Again, with the Shell. If he has sold this to at least 3 people then they surely need to take the matter up with him (If they have paid for it). Otherwise, if no deposit paid etc there is nothing to answer in the eye of the law except a broken word.
I hope you guys who have lost out can sort it. No one likes to lose money but you must take it forward professionally and without defamation.
Good luck

I used SP for routine servicing on a couple of occasions and didnt have any problems. Keith even loaned me one of his GTBs overnight when the work on mine wasnt quite done by the end of the day.
However Im also aware that quite a few other members on the UKLegacy forums suffered greatly from some of the 'less than professional' business practices that went on - with parts misplaced or work paid for but not undertaken.
SP has now ceased trading - so the only chance of compensation for most people will sadly be through the courts.
I know the new owner (Adam) through the UKLegacy forums, and quite a few of the forum members are lining up to support Adam in the new venture - including some of the people affected by the problems when Keith was running the business. Most of us are simply looking for an honest reliable garage - especially given the relatively poor reputation of certain other garages in the Wales / South West area. Adam certainly seems to be concentrating more on the customer service side of things than the old business did!

Fair enough if what people are saying is untrue.

It's alright everyone saying, if you have an issue take it up with the company. Which I do agree with, how is the company supposed to know there is an issue if you don't tell them. However, if the person who has experienced a bad service and isn't a confident person, how are they supposed to get an issue resolved?
