That would be a fair guess poc.
Been everywhere today i'm quite exhausted.
I'm just speechless when it comes to that car, i is going to lose my licence if i'm not very careful.
Insurance a extra £175 for the 6 months I have left, they demand a tracker which I have to have fitted before sat!
And £27,36 to fill the tank which i might add has almost gone!
All in all though I have to say i'm stunned! Not slating the scoob but different class IMHO.

Nice one Crypto.....Only had my Yellow V for nearly 3 months and love it, can't see me selling it for a few years yet. The only car that would tempt me, within the next couple of years at least, would be a Red VI TME.....
Now you've had it a day, what's the first mod going to be?

I sold my silver wrx, but not for an evo, the arches just arent wide enough, and 2.0 litres is not big enough.
I have a major point to add here which is serious.
Aside from RC developments whom I have a lot of time for and also believe they know what they are talking about, why do you assume that just because someone tunes evos for a living and hasnt gone bankrupt that they must know what they are talking about and be excellent.
I can (offline of course) name about 5 tuners of subarus who enjoy a similar reputation which is totally undeserved, and now knowing what I know, would never use them.
True experts or sepcialists are seriously few and far between, until their competance is proven to me, commercial success is no indication of competance.
If you are selling to people who dont know what they are talking about, they are always going to be impressed.
I spoke with MA Developments the toher day, and he was adamant that his new evo engine was going to be a true 400bhp, bnot the crap figures that most people spout. To achieve this it looked to me like he was doing some serious engine work, including complete replacement of internals with custom designed parts, to his specification.
Since he is regarded as an "expert" and the other "experts" say you can get 400bhp out of standard internals, one of these "experts" must be wrong! regardless of whether he is rigth or not, I have to say I prefer the MAD appraoch.

Adam,
Why must one of the 'experts' be wrong? There are different ways to get 400bhp out of an Evo engine and it probably can be done using standard internals.
IMHO though, it's all about reliability vs performance and like you, I agree that Mark's approach sounds very good but other people have different approaches and just because they don't agree on the way in which is best to get power from an engine doesn't necessarily mean one way is wrong and one way is right.

Whats all this then, Looks like scoobynet has been invaded by the lancer forum - and yellow E5 owners
For information the main differences from E4 to E5,E6 are:-
Camshafts - less lift and duration
E4 inlet 9.5mm lift 252deg duration
E4 exh 9.5mm lift 252deg
E5,E6 inlet 10.0mm lift 260deg duration
E5,E6 exh 9.5mm lift 256deg
Fuelpump
120l/h on E4, 150l/h E5&E6.
Injectors
510cc/min on E4, 560 on E5&E6
Turbo turbine housing
9T on E4, 10.5 on E5 & E6.
Oil cooler smaller on E4.
Radiator thinner on E4.
Intercooler slightly bigger on E6 than a E5.
Track is wider in E5&E6 compared to E4
The camshafts and turbine housing make the biggest difference to engine output. Torgue is therefore lower on an E4 than an E5,E6.
I also own a yellow E5 (small world) having previously owned a Scooby

Crypt,
I'll keep my eye out for you around Manchester then.
Shouldn't be too difficult to spot a Yellow 5.
I'll be the one in the white Evo 6 with red mudflaps and red sunstrip and POC's old HKS Hiper Muffler exhaust

Intersting topic just spent about an hour digesting all this info and opinion!!!
I am in the market for 1 of 3 cars....
Evo 5 (a fav of mine)
Scooby wrx sti/sti type r (so many ****in scoobs don't know whats best!)
Sunny GTi-R (drove a couple and there so slow!)
Why don't someone put a performance table of standard evos/scoobys together including 0-60, 0-100, 1/4 mile, top speed, in gear acc, etc, etc?
Probably a lot of work? But it would make my choice easier!
