I work fourteen twelve hour shifts spread over a month ( 7 days, 7 nights ) Work two weekends out of five and get ten days off every fifth week on top of the days off inbetween my shifts. ( petrochemicals industry )
I used to work monday to friday with overtime at weekends but could never go back to that after working shifts.

Working at Tata in the main workshops as a mechy fitter my hours average 37.5 apparently. 6-2 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and 2-10 Thursday, Friday. Opposite the week after so luckily I only have one 2-10/6-2 quick runaround every two weeks. Every weekend off unless I put down for overtime although I usually prefer to work over on a 2-10 shift, either staying until 2am or 6am.
Currently maxing out my 24 hrs/month overtime as the extra money comes in handy with me providing for my young family on one wage. With my son being 20 months old I don't wanna be working every hour god sends or "sleeping when I'm dead". I want to be kinda alert to my son growing up and not a ******* zombie 'till my retirement
Could be worse as the 21 shift pattern is the main working arrangement on the 'works. Oh and Christmas/New Year off if I want too
