Well said. You don't get any more bang for your buck when the UK2000 is concerned. In fact if you go from a £1000 UK2000 to a £8000 P1 you will be very disappointed in the lite difference there is.
I'm probably only saying that because I think P1s are horrid looking things.

also dont want to upset the newage guys but you will never have the aggressive looks of the classic scoobys and newage doesnt comes close IMO to the p1 wr and the 22b etc these are timeless classics and subaru have struggled since to produce something as mouth watering !!!!!!!!!! pure beasts with looks that make me dribble !! that car craig pasted above in the post they just dont come any better they really dont ........my pants are damp

Well that's the first time I've ever heard about someone getting damp pants over an impreza. especially a watered down type R....LOL....
Whatever floats your boat young man, I tend to stick to pornhub myself...lol...

Craig's white one is for sale Kezwaldo, he's desperate to get rid because of the rusty rear arches and knocky engine. Reckon he'd take £2500 if you offered.

With that sort of mileage you would probably get 800-£1000 which is better money so not worth spending the money to make it go a bit faster
Far better spending a couple of hundred quid on detailing products to really make it shine out from the crowd as its a great standard example as it is

As cars get older originality and standard is the key

I have had my classic turbo for over 12 years since new and with bit if rust starting in the arches am faced with a bill of over a grand to sort it and a full respray to get rid of any odd stone chips maybe another couple of grand and a couple of parking dents taken out and wheels refurbished so I probably looking 3500-4000 to make immaculate

So that is financial madness but it's a second car and has only done 60k miles since new and I get great pleasure in driving and polishing it and it works out at less then £40 a week since I bought it new spread over nearly 13 years so for me it's worth it as I want a nice old classic sitting in the garage when I retire to think I've had it for 20/30 years since new

So if you intend to keep it spend the Money but if you want it to go faster
Save your pennies and 5-6k will get you a well sorted newer model but will never have the rawness of the old classics

Although I have a new age hatch its always the classic that excites me when I fire it up

It's ok if you can afford to put things right if/when they go wrong.
