you got blown away by an LAD tuned saxo.
I have known ernie larton from the mid 80's, he used to work wonders with the Hillman Imp, then moved on to Talbot Sambas, you should have seen his 1400 rally samba, that thing flew, then it was 205's, now its the saxo's. Ernie knows his stuff and always specialises in the smaller displacement hot hatches, he can make those things fly!
He bought my Clan Crusader rally car from me, i bet he still has it tucked away.
Nothing embarasing about being wooped by an LAD tuned car.

Interestingly when I went looking for insurance on Elephant.co.uk, where you can put in your reg no. and it tells you what cars you've got (presumably from some DVLA database), I got told I had a 1.6GL and that they would charge me 600quid. Its not a 1.6GL but it goes to show that something dodgy could have been going on.
p.s I checked with the DVLA, and they now know that its not a 1.6GL, i wouldn't like to get caught out. Could have been BAAAD.

Scooby-si,
I got busted abouut a year ago for 100mph on the motorway. I got a letter from my employer, said my appologies in court. They gave me 5 points and a £300 fine and £30 costs.
A friend who I won't name, was following me and got caught at the same time for the same 100mph. He already had 9 points and basicly told the court that he didn't need the car for work (trying to escape the points as any would give him a instant ban
) they noted it and gave him a 28 day ban and £330 and £30 costs.
We got about what I had expected after reading www.caughtspeeding.co.uk
