I had a look, two wimmins, one Labour, the other Conservative...decided not to bother going as I predict they'll be equally ****!
(In other news, turns out my GF (31) has never voted, at all, ever!)

I heard on the local news for the North west (Manchester area) they had a 1 in 10 turn out.
Just seen on the BBC news 13.5% for Greater Manchester, as previously asked at what point does it, should it become null and void due to staggering low turn out and not a fair representation of the electorate ?
Kind of says some thing about what people think of politics in general at the moment doesn't it.

If any politician thinks this is another foothold for a cushy job they can go and stuff their voting papers up their own *****.
I voted for an indy - ex copper. The only one who bothered to send a flyer through the door.
I only voted because it was a postal vote. If I had to go to a polling station I wouldn't have bothered TBH.
Edit: 11.9% turnout in my area

A poor turnout of voters here and they're still counting the votes. Apparently there are a lot of spoiled ballot papers with people writing messages on them lol. What does that tell the powers that be?

It works well in the US though. I understand why they think it should be a good idea, not happy with the policing? Great, get rid of the person in charge and ask someone esle to do it properly. Remember old Sheriff Joe in the US? Elected time and time again for putting prisoners in tents, bringing back chain gangs and making them all wear pink. That I could vote for. However, as usual here, it's been done in a stupid manner.
Except all available evidence suggests that his methods have made crime there worse. He illustrates an important point though: basing policing on what the public want (in order to get re-elected) is not a great idea given how stupid the public are. Many popular tactics have almost no effect on crime (more police on the beat being the classic example), whereas others, which the public don't like, actually work (like dealing with home conditions for offenders). Call me old-fashioned, but I want policing that works, not policing by Daily Wail headlines.

Cameron was expecting a poor turn out before voting begen, and said of course that it would still be a mandate to elect a PCC because it is important to him to maintain his vote catching initiatives!
