He was a television journalist ..... granted, that's not real work - but it's better than playing with an inheritance!

Usefully, he was also Chairman of HM Treasury's Council of Economic Advisers. Useful leadership and economic skills!

How did Labour get on with the PCC elections?

13 out of 40!

Poor show Pete.

And even you admit the parties hid under an umbrella. But the Conservatives only won 16 (still more than Labour) and the Independents and Others 11.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA ............... Do you REALLY think that ANYONE takes the results of a non-Political vote, which gets less than 12% of the Electorate voting?

I shall sleep easy ........ FAR more impacting is that the Tories got dumped out of Corby - by a MASSIVE Majority!!

He shafted his own brother, he'll certainly shaft the electorate.
He's the worst kind of chancer and the last person I'd like to see in government. He isn't even a socialist, so only God knows what he is.
Ed representing this great country? I'd rather be French..

The PCC posts are inteneded to be completely apolitical. The police and politics should not be associated in any way.

Voting for a commissioner because of his political leaningswould be totally wrong, and the number of candidates voted for should bear no relationship to party loyalties.

The Corby by election however was certainly of political significance and the Labour win as well as the UKIP share of the vote should send our leader a very positive mesaage!

Interesting to see how he deals with Eu over their budget etc.

How do you honestly think we would fare if Labour were elected and that prat Ed ***** got his hands on the exchequer? He was one of the Chancellor's advisors when Labour was in power. Look where that left us Pete!

I agree that the present fellow in charge and his mates are nothing much to write home about especially when it comes to achieving anything noticeable for the good of the people of this country, and his love affair with the Eu coupled with his manic fear of not doing what they order him to do in order to remain on popular terms with the Europhiles. People keep asking me what he and the other Europhile politicians expect to gain from the commissioners should they manage to con us into entering a Euro federation. We are already witnessing the death of democracy since they take no notice whatsoever of what the people want. A Euro federation would be like a totalitarian state!

How can we trust a man who promises a referendum on the Lisbon treaty and our own bill of human rights in order to get elected and conveniently dumps all that when he gets elected?

It is all very disappointing and at the moment there only seems to be one meaningful choice left to us

What kind of a better performance might you expect from the Lib Dems or your own hero Pete?

We would be a very successful country and leaving the others for dead if he had the guts to take us out of the Eu.

I assume to save time you are just 'cut & pasting' from the one of the 10000 similar musings you've wasted bandwidth with?
