I've said it many times before and will again in the future - I cannot fault Ryan's workmanship and having to put up with last minute changes or tweaks that occur to me.

I have no doubt that 99% of repairers would have told me to sling my hook long ago.

I ordered a new set of bonnet dampers yesterday off the group buy in the members marketplace, so they are another addition to the list.

I will be putting my Tein bonnet dampers up for sale soon if anyone wants them.

The stainless steel ends are a little pitted but that will be taken care of and they are a little noisy but I think some lubrication should take care of that.

Thanks Lee, I am not looking for centre stage just to be the shy, retiring person at the back of the stand who modestly goes about his day.

I certainly hope for a considerable difference in the performance, but having said that not having driven it for around 4 months I would think a push bike was quick, as my plan all along was to have the car ready for the first show of the year.

Car looks lovely, coming along well.

Not long until the key turns, ready for summer weather.

Any track days planned, or in the pipeline to plan Ty?

The end line is in sight Geraint well after it gets trailered down to Plymouth for Martyn @ Enginetuner to work just magic on the car.

No track days planned apart from some spirited driving planned around some of the best roads in South, West and Mid Wales for comparison purposes of course.

I can't wait to see the RR plot graphs and know what the final result will be.

Bet you can't wait for the first drive once it's run in.

Of course all within limits haha.

I think with something like this your going to have to take it on track to appreciate its true power and handling. Lots has been done now and a full test on a track would be perfect.
Just pure flat out fun. No plod around to catch you out.

I think that this is going to be more powerful than you estimate too lol. Will be interesting to see the final run

Semi slicks will be needed to keep all 4 safe on the ground lol.

Running in? I bloody well hope not, done that before and it was like torture.

There will be plenty of safeguards within the Alcatek such as restricted boost and revs until coolant and oil temperatures are reached so after they are passed it's playtime.

I do fancy trying some runway timed and top speed runs, and some drag strip runs as well with the AL and LC on full to help me of the line.

To get honest most of the time the engine will be in the low map which will be V Power only which will give more power than you will ever need for road use, the high map will be for meth and V Power but this will be only used for pub talk and runs - I'm still not sure if I'll be using 10 or 20% mix yet.

As for tyre choice I might go for road legal semi slicks but they're not a great choice if you get stuck in rain or a sudden downpour, but then I suppose it's a matter of planning.

I'm on semi slicks now. they're fine in the wet if you drive 'responsible' and as long as they've got good heat in them, you'll be fine. I just think its too much for a road tyre, it was struggling with grip with 400hp lol. You want to feel confident with the car, not sudden loss of grip powering out of a bend or something.

It's worth considering.

You are quite right of course, yes semi slick tyres would be nice and would certainly grip well. In fact there someone is selling road legal semi slick tyres on here at the moment, perhaps it might just be worth a look.

Definately, I think for what spec your car is now, then to hold back on tyres would leave the car not being driven to its full potential. You'll see night and day difference between a road and semi slick tyre.

There's plenty of road semi options that have a good all round use, doesn't have to be a full dedicated 'track' slick.

I'd be looking at a good road use one, ones that come with 8mm tread, so your getting good wear out of them.

Federal RS-R's have brilliant rating, good in the wet too.
Yokohama AD08 is another road friendly slick, I'm running these. 8mm tread and a bit more focused than the federals. But amazing tyre.

They're not 'that' expensive either, I pointed a friend in the semi slick direction the other day too. 255/35-18, the federal was £135 each on offer, £160 not on offer.

Thanks Geraint, I've also read good things about the Federal tyres as well.

Tyre choice is a little way off yet but it's definitely something that needs some work careful consideration.

I've also been offered and paid for a genuine Subaru roof spoiler which will be delivered direct to Ryan, there was nothing wrong at all with the roof spoiler which I already had but I just prefer the genuine item.

I'd just like to thank Ryan for sorting out the outstanding issue of the windscreen which nobody seems able to supply, the correct screen is now on order and will arrive before it's required thankfully.

On a diversification I'm just about to order an aftermarket DCCD controller which allow the conversion to automatic DCCD control plus 4 DCCD maps for things such as snow, gravel and tarmac plus it'll look factory as it'll interface with my manual DCCD controller to retain the dashboard display and roller controls.

Yes it is, I've been in contact with the manufacturer who was more than happy to answer my many questions.

For my application it will be overriding my manual controller which allows me to keep the dash DCCD display working and retains the OE look.
