What I meant by that is the you have to hold boost on the road, okay it might be for short blasts but around other road users it can be a little nerve wracking to say the least. Plus of course you can easily attract unwanted attention in the form of the local constabulary who won't take to kindly to what they might see as racing on the public highway.
To map my car on a rolling road I had a couple of choices available but having spoken to Martyn and Alan down at Enginetuner they both are both nice people to do business with so I am going with them.
I wanted somewhere where I could take my car and let them get on with the mapping whilst I watched, plus while I am down in Plymouth I will go across to see some relatives down in Penzance as well.

SC50 on a 2.0l will be laggy Ty, local mate has similar setup on his JDM widetrack & he gets full boost at 4800-5000rpm. Just take your time to select the right turbo as you dont want disappointment.
SC42 are making very good power & retain OEM spool up. You will hit high 400s, with better fuel 500+
Dont let the figures get to you.
My personal choice would be the MDX321T

Martyn reckons mine should reach full boost lower than the above link, he has mapped quite a few cars on the SC range and this will have the third generation development of the billet unit so I'm very hopeful on the result with methanol to aid spool.
Good or bad I'll post the results up for all to see.

But anyway...back on topic.
I think a bit of lag doesn't do any harm, just you'll need to go down an extra gear and you'll soon be used to doing it. Plus you've got AL anyway, so that is always handy.
I don't think you'll have any issues with day to day driving with a bit of 'lag' the cars got enough power/torque to still give drivability low down.

Kas, I know what you mean about the lag - I've only seen one RR plot for an SC50 on a JDM 2.0 but that was a standard engine which had exhaust issues, I dare say you've seen the thread over on 22b.com.

So after the decision by Ty to keep the spec-c and some influence from me to make it better the work commenced which has started with removing the turbo which sold in rapid time!
Here are a few pics of the goodies going on during this round of improvements
Freshly powder coated header tank
New middle section
Hella supertone horns
New RCM filter
New de-cat resonatted down pipe
Toucan
Sensor package for toucan
FFS switch [flat foot shift]
LC1 wideband lambda kit
And here is a shot of the turbo removed and ready to accept the new bigger variant
More to follow

Well I picked up the Agency Power hard inlet pipe tonight from Rich (redwards) and it struck me as funny that I sold that very pipe to another member, he then sold it to Rich and now I have bought it back from Rich. Talk about strange, I ended up buying back a part I sold 2 years ago.
Plus I ordered a replacement 3" silicone coupling hose as it was looking a little worse for wear due to somebody (not myself or Rich) using cheapo jubilee clips which have cut into the hose and virtually destroyed it.
Nearly forgot as well thanks to VC for meeting up with me last week as I bought most of his Milltek twin scroll system from him (well the downpipe and centre section), my downpipe has never coupled properly to the turbo and so it seemed the ideal time to get it sorted.

sounds like its going to be some car when its finished mate but the only down side is that in a few months you will get use to the car and so it will start again as it never stops even if you sold it and bought something else.
best thing is to buy a very small car with under 90 bhp and the older and clapped out the better (not a new small car tho )then drive it everyday then just use you scooby now and again and realise how good and fast it really is
you will then stop spending and the money pit will stop lol
will look forward to seeing it sometime next year mate and good luck

Nice list of parts there Ty. I'll have to meet you sometime to hear those supertones, been tempted for a few years now but wanted to hear them first hand before buying a set.

No problem Rich, you're more than welcome to have your ear drums tested.

I've got AP Racing brakes as it is so I'm covered on the braking side, but the idea of upping the power was an easy decision to make as a lot of the required components were already in place.
