I'm not sure about them eating themselves as most failures happen because of either poor maintenance, driver abuse or the engine being poorly built/material failure.
Perhaps being pushed beyond their capabilities might be a possibility as owners try to push their engine beyond it's safe zone, but what kind of numpty would try that and not expect something to go pop?

No its not alright i want my goodies is it Ryan we had to blame for making you change your mind? ( well done that man )
On another note car should finally get the engine it deserves and you get to have alot of fun in it glad you kept her the way it is, it would have been such a shame for it not to have seen its true potential, so rally day is on the cards i take it

I'm not looking forward to the running in process though, everyone overtaking you and looking at you funny as they all overtake you.
And yes it's all Ryan's fault, so blame him.

[QUOTE=Cannon Fodder;11127077]Thanks Rob.

The "eating thenselves" was refernce to a post on a different thread, and your reply was exactly the same as mine pretty much. As my old boss told me years ago whilst undergoing my heating and gas apprenticeship "the materials we use are only as good as the man putting them together". Very true id say.

I`m selling little voodoo dolls of Ryan with a pack of 10 sharp pins, if anybody wants one....
Its good to hear your change of plans.(There`s money in pimping, obviously) Don`t know if I have missed it somewhere, but who`s doing the engine inspection and build Ty. If you`d rather not say, I understand....

Everyone has views of their own, that's mine. Don't need sarcastic comments on my view. I'm not looking for arguments or anything, just stating my view. No need for sarcastic rubbish.
I think they're great cars to read up on, and obviously I'm on here because of following friends builds.

My Defi Genome gauges turned up today complete with the sensors and wiring etc, still not 100% as to whether to use them or not.
But they sure do look good though.

Funnily enough I spoke to Tim recently and he's is waiting on Ecutek but in all probability it's not going to be for some time yet.
Appparently Ecutek will get it done but it's at the back of a long queue as they are concentrating their efforts on other makes and models other than Subaru now.

On a more positive note, I will be having a lovely AH Fabrications engine oil cooler to help with the engine oil temps.
It's only going to be a smallish cooler and kept out of direct air flow, but having seen the excellent job of the power steering oil cooler on Ryan's car it was beckoning me to invest in one.

Mine being the Motorsport model doesn't have the engine oil cooler fitted as standard, it does have the gearbox and power steering oil coolers.
I did have a factory engine oil cooler on my S202 and that was the mutts nuts, even the protective wrap around the oil lines was STi pink.

Speak to Ryan about AH Fabrications, you will not find better cooling products or better custom fabrication than theirs - they do a lot of work for F1 teams and I heard a rumour that they were involved with the Gobstopper 2 as well.
