I purchased a new HT Boardman carbon mountain bike from Halfords and a used but good condition carbon Boardman team road bike second hand on ebay for much less than list price.

Basically the newer and lighter bike as you can afford without going mental on the cash.

Dunno why that reminded me of this scene from Smokey & the Bandit that I watched last night

Anything with an engine (repairing, modifying, using, enjoying) current list of toys is:
3 Quads
2 Jetskiis (1 stand up and 1 sit down circuit racer)
4 cars
3 tractors
6 bikes (Ducati S4 Monster, Kawasaki "Street", Suzuki Enduro, GasGas trials, a 1976 Honda and a 125cc dirt).
I'm lucky enough to have plenty of spare time (and the space) to enjoy these with my family.

I went to the local model shop yesterday for some inspiration, I was left without any. Didn't see anything that grabbed my attention.

Very poor selection in airfix models and 00 guage railways. I'm not very good at buying things online, I like to visually see and touch things before i purcahse.

I love them stereotyped Yankee cops. There's a good one in the Moore (fav 007) Bond films too.

I used to have a model shop back in the nineties.
It was very difficult (expensive) to keep a vast and diverse stock. Most of my trade was from regular collectors and hobbyists, then along came internet shops which just destroyed my business.
Everything was cheaper online too because of the lack of overheads.

Art, art and art; the innate and the personal one. It absorbs me, it takes me away from all the usual rat race-ish stuff, and it pleases me no end.
