What is your hobby?

My main hobby is obviously the cars! I have quite a few mechanic friends who are always down our garage, so i often wander down there and help out.
Recently restored a Metro Turbo and currently rebuilding a BMW drift car, not Subarus but still keep us occupied!
But have also noticed i've become a bit of an animal hoarder ha ha! So a lot of my time goes into my mini zoo too!
Apart from that, probably computers, used to play drums but not much time now to keep up with that so sold my kit not long ago. Was a sad sale, - huge double bass kit, and have played before bands such as Stiff Little Fingers, The Buzzcocks and the remaining Ramone - but money went to Scooby parts, so i figure an even trade

I went to the local model shop yesterday for some inspiration, I was left without any. Didn't see anything that grabbed my attention.
Very poor selection in airfix models and 00 guage railways. I'm not very good at buying things online, I like to visually see and touch things before i purcahse.

The only problem is, because she usually has quite a varied range of stock, something always grabs my attention, even if I've only gone in for paint or brushes
I have a massive collection of yet to be started kits in the loft, thanks to my staggering lack of willpower

Never really had hobbies. Do sports count?
If so; horse riding, snow boarding, mountain boarding, climbing.
I don't do any of them anymore though.
Cars would be an interest rather than hobby, because I don't actually do anything other than drive from a to b.

<!--td {border: 1px solid #ccc;}br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;}-->I used to read about tech gadgets like mobile phones datacables, headsets, usbs, headphones, earphones, earbuds and many more etc. Now, I am selling them on my own because of reading about them I started giving reviews about them and also started content writing about technology and gadgets. So this hobby has become a business for me.

I’m a steward at Liverpool fc when the fans were there and when the fans are back. My emotional attachment to my Subaru and LFC are very similar in the way that they either make me over the moon or they can ruin my day / week. Being a dad is number 1 obviously but that’s not a hobby but a blessing.

Other than kids and associated travel and events (sailing), I have a Westfield in the garage that always seems to need something doing, and I learnt to dive last year, did my OW and AOW, then C19 kicked in, so not had chance to even start to build up any experience.

Ooh, divers
I quite like diving as well.. I haven't done much of it mind, but did my OW+AOW in something like 2008 in Sharm, did some diving in Vietnam etc, and then kids came along and I did nothing until 2019 when we went on holiday to Cape Verde again... Did a weeks worth of diving there, and it was just as much fun as I remembered, so then I came home and signed up to a BSAC club here and I was supposed to do the open water dives for the Sports Diver qualification just as everything went into lockdown last year.
I have, however, been doing pool dives as often as restrictions have allowed, so now I don't bob around helplessly in my drysuit anymore (well, not as badly as when I started at least, haha)
Trying to persuade my fellow club members to jump into the lakes in Kent around here, but they apparently don't like 0.5m visibility and freezing cold... I'm still keen, though

Then C19 kicked in, and I've not been able to dive since. I need to find a buddy or two who are either not stupid, or happy to dive with someone who's 'green' and let me build experience. I've no real interest in diving to places where it's nearly dark, so doubt I'll ever get in to tech.

Anyone can dive in warm waters with 20m+ visibility. It takes some serious commitment to dive in low-vis cold waters. Its not always fun, but it will make you a better diver. I've had dives where I can barely see my hands, never mind my buddy, which is not great when you're buddy is an OWD student, but great fun on instructor training dives If I can see my buddy/student(s) then I'm happy, anything more than that is a bonus. For safety reasons, we never dive with more than two students per instructor and if possible 1:1, which is a great bonus for the students who get the full attention rather than the 1:8 ratios you'll get in big resorts.
If you're short of a willing buddy, then either get friendly with a local dive school who can buddy you up with other guests. Alternatively, look into joining a dive club, although some "club" divers can be a bit special sometimes and often grey the lines between Sport divers and Tech Divers - never get pushed into doing dives you're not comfortable with and always keep your equipment standard and resist the earge for using Tech equipment and configurations in Sport diving!
I did an experience dive in Cape Verde (Boa Vista), then did another one because I enjoyed it so much. Saw a big turtle on both dives which is quite an event apparently. Came back to the UK, thought about it for a year and decided to do my OW. Did that, and then to get some more skills, did my AoW at Capernwray. I don't tend to feel the cold too much, so I did some of my training in 5-6 degrees - did my Dry Suit in the end thou, as it's sitting around in a wetsuit out the water is when you get cold
Then C19 kicked in, and I've not been able to dive since. I need to find a buddy or two who are either not stupid, or happy to dive with someone who's 'green' and let me build experience. I've no real interest in diving to places where it's nearly dark, so doubt I'll ever get in to tech.

Drysuits make a huge difference to the enjoyment in cold waters - if you're warm, then the dive will always be more fun! If you don't have any buddies to go with, most dive centers will buddy you up. Many of my dive trips I've done on my own and never had a problem. As a beginner I was always buddied with and experienced diver or one grouped with one of the guides. As a divemaster/instructor I then repaid the favour by buddying up with inexperienced divers. Most divemasters and pretty much all instructors will happily look after inexperienced divers particularly as many dive centers offer discounts to experienced divers who are willing to look after a few guests, particularly if they're overbooked and short of guides!
I have zero interest in tech diving, way to much risk for no real reward, particularly for what I enjoy about diving. No problem with diving in the dark though - night dives are amazing fun, particularly if you come across photoluminescent plankton
For me its a bit of everything and depends on the dives I'm doing. Diving here in the lake, before I was an instructor, it was about gaining experience, mastering the diving skills and also switching off and enjoying the silent tranquility. After becoming an instructor, then it became about the teaching and helping others discorver the joys of diving. When on holiday, I'm not so fussed about coral reefs, although I like the creatures you find there, I much prefer rocky landscapes in more temperate waters, so volcanic islands are more appealing for me - I'm particularly fond of diving in New Zealand and the Azores were also pretty spectacular too! I'm also a big fan of Nudibranchs too One of the most mazing things I've seen was a pigmy squid on a night dive in Thailand, maybe half the size of my little finger nail!
