D'you know, I honestly don't give a fvck about Apple/Android/Microsoft etc. I have a laptop running Windows 7, an Ipod classic, an Iphone 4S, the Mrs has a shuffle (fnar fnar), the son has a 3GS and a Nexus 7 tablet, the daughter has an Piod Touch. It really makes no oidds to me what version of ice cream sandwich or IOS I'm at, I just can't get my head round the disciples of an inanimate object. Jesus, its more silly than Christianity (no pun intended).

There are more comments on this thread from the anti apple brigade than there are from me, if you really didn't care then you wouldn't take the time to berate my choices.

If we are talking about the prowess of off-the shelf PCs. I up the ante:
Our last HP Vectra (pentium III) was finally retired in summer last year, it was about 12 years old and all it had upgraded was a bigger hard drive and more RAM (3gig) and the CRT monitor was replaced with a LCD monitor. 12 years of faultless daily 8am to 6pm operation 6 days a week.
Not bad for a off the shelf PC. Which I bought for just £100 as it was 12 month old ex-public service (I bought 10 originally, kept 4, sold the rest for profit). Seems taxpayers paid for alot of new IT stock at the time which was given away for a pittance. Ok technically my taxes did pay for it...but your taxes paid for it too.
Its been replaced by a £260 Lenovo. Bit more expensive, but if it lasts another 12years its money well spent.

Jack, this is a very, very sad thread. I say that as the owner of an iPhone, an iPod, an iPod Touch and three Macs.
Sort yourself out.
