Now I am interested in your comment about the 453s. I very nearly put them on my Merc instead of Michelins. The reviews were great, they weren't mental price wise and a lot of other Merc owners liked the 452s. Trouble is the 452s always seemed a bit middle of the pack to me yet the 453s are quite different and a bit more expensive.

In the end branding won out and I went for the Michelins which were a bit more money, but I am keeping an eye on the 453s for next time.

they are only 1 rating below the mich ps3s and miles better than the 452s hence the small price increase

i have a friend who swore by main brand branded tyres(bstone , pirelli, dunlop etc) and said ill never run falkens or anything along those lines , i gave him a set of 453s to test and he said they are the best tyres he has driven on in the wet and for fast road use , and hes saved a packet

simples im running then on all my cars now and love em #

That's good to know, I was just struggling to accept the reviews given the brand I guess...... I do like good tyres on my cars... seems a no brainer to me that the part in contact with the road should be as good as possible.

Will try a set next time I think, too many glowing reports for them not to be good. Would have saved me a nice sum too. That'll teach me!
