Tired Old Top Gear?

I watch it because they do usually do one 'good' piece in each show, this week it was the Zonda. In a perfect world they would have spent 15mins on it looking at the development of those flaps, the carbon/titanium and what's gone in to making the (so far) fastest car around their track. I would have found that way more interesting than JCs p45 bit and much more suitable for a motoring enthusiasts show. As it was, the chap of Homeland got more screen time than an awesome supercar.
I'll still watch it next week and no doubt find something I enjoy in that show too.

I've been critical of TG since 2009 where they seemed to start losing their way, but I have to admit, tonights show was good. I hope this is a return to form and the rest of this 'short' run maintains this standard or better.

For the first one after being off air for so long I thought it was disappointing.
I am definitely in the 'get rid of Star in reasonably..' camp but Damien was actually quite entertaining even if his lap was completely pointless.
I think they should have saved the Bentley segment for another episode and had something more down to earth in there.
I'm ashamed to say I really enjoyed the P45 segment

TG stopped being informative when William Woollard left. If I want a test of family hatchbacks, I'll buy What Car.

Well I enjoyed it, it is what it is and if you want real world car reviews buy Car Magazine or Auto Express.
I am far more interested in Astons, Jags, Ferraris, Porsches etc. than I am in seeing a review of the latest family hatchback.... or even the latest Subaru.
It's entertainment loosely focused on motoring, if you expect anything else then you are watching the wrong programme.

Really? Where? A few people might have started threads on here asking why there was no Christmas special or new series, but if you'd been relying on the BBC itself for information on the next series, you'd easily be forgiven for thinking it's been taken off the air for good.
Full of $h!t as usual, Pete.

That Pagani was just amazing. I read about the car some time ago, when they stated that every bolt used on it is made of Titanium and individually numbered for traceability.
No, I can't afford one either, but I like to know it's there, just in case one day I could!

Not watched it, nor will I. It's been contrived slapstick buffoonery for several years, indeed go back several years in search and you'll see the same complaints about it.

I thought it was great entertainment, better than anything else on the box at the moment! "Sorry I can't understand a word you're saying" Genius!

I was a bit nonplussed, does seem like they have run out of ideas a bit, but I think as usual it will get into its stride, the Zonda was mightily impressive to waste the Atom V8, like has been said, Top Gear being average is better than someone baking cakes, still nominally about cars.

Wow doesnt this generate some comments.
But most of you have control of the remote, (if you can get it off your wife) so is there any need to watch all of it (or any of it) if you dont like it? Man up for ***** sake and turn it off.
To watch it for the whole hour and feel you wasted that really useful hour of your dreary life just so you can moan about it seems a little perverse.
Or leave it on and enjoy it.

I've already said I don't watch it. The pity of it is there's no car programme I can watch on the BBC for my £145.50 per year without an unfunny version of The Three Stooges burning caravans with the odd £300,000 car thrown in. What they've done is pandered to a worldwide audience/xbox hero with celebs, supercars and a Mr Bean approach to whatever fills the gaps. Ideal long haul eye candy while you're waiting for your airplane dinner and trying not to think of the plane crashing, not much of an informative car magazine for the rest of us.
