Who'd have thought we had this common ground all this time Anyway I completely agree with you and best of luck in your quest for an unmolested RA.

I know id enjoy a 7K classic more than a 7K blob thats for sure.
Yep totally agree, every time the classic vs newage argument crops up i say the same thing, even the type r is a very different car to a non dccd classic.

As for the previous posts about the buyer not knowing his scoobs, i'd say he's smart enough to know a good one when he see's it, and probably been hunting and hanging on for the right car to pop up, as with any car the good ones sell quickly.

I bet he was a very happy man when he left.

Edit to add, i bet the lad who listened to the nay sayers is kicking himself.

And with all due respect i really couldn't give a **** now as the car is sold. The main reason I got wound up was because negative comments like in this thread can be very damaging. Im sure a certain someone had his mind swayed after reading this thread. A chap from here contacted me shortly after the advert went on and wanted to view, however I didn't hear anymore after the posts started flowing in this thread.
That's true Matt, end of the day you've sold the car for what you needed too

Nope, fair point. Not had the privilege yet so I cant compare. I do fear that at 1400kg and with a smooth power delivery it wont feel as lively or thrilling as a classic. I could be wrong but ive driven a spec c's closest equivalent, 2005 jdm sti and that was a completely boring car in all aspects.
I hope to have the opportunity to drive a spec c and maybe be proven wrong. Id really hope the spec c is very special and worth the extra money they demand.
Would a 15grand spec c be more fun than a 7K classic, im not so sure.

It really is a different breed matty, Well i think it is , I have driven a few scoobs and got to say its by far the best driving experience i have had in every aspect...Peak torque 380lbft at 3250RPM it`s like it just wants to go what ever gear you are in, Apart from the lack of sound proofing which is a minor issue but who cares about that, Most people drive around with the window down anyway to hear the car, with the spec-c you dont need to do that as you have a roof flap

Mine on a weighbridge a few months back came out at 1335KG with a set of 5 defis and a 7" d/din dvd fitted

I think you could have more fun in a classic but if it came down to track times the C would be faster overall IMO

Until im lucky enough to drive one I'll have to take your word for it. Im sure it would be a great drive and think I need to take one out. Its all very well me sitting here saying what I think it would be like but actually driving one is something else.

1335kg, thats not bad at all, thought they were closer to 1400kg in standard spec.

Mine is listed at 1370KG with aircon, electric windows, electric mirrors, central locking, Only had about a quarter of a tank of fuel and prob around 3L in the IC tank, No spare or tool kit either when it was weighed, It suprised me but I think they take the weight with all fluids and half a tank of fuel but not 100% on that,

Still got my front U frame attached (approx 18-20KG)

the kerb weight includes all fluids and a full tank of fuel and all standard equipment.

so i assume a uk car would be weighed with tool kit and space saver in it, and the spec c without these as they are not standard equipment.

As i mentioned proof i'm assuming you meant me, i dont want proof i dont give a **** whether he sold the car or for what money, it was a sweeping statement used as an example, i gave my opinion, it was in no way intended to be damaging to his sale and neither was it written in a way that seemed harsh, if anything i'd say it was quite nicely put.

As for the keyboard warrior comment if that was aimed at me, you can ram it up your overpriced ****, i replied after being called an idiot, had this of not happened i wouldnt of commented.

Im glad he got 7k for his car as i have a classic wagon aswell as my blob, hopefully ill get good money for mine when i do come to sell it as its just as mint but not as well specced so this thread has done me a favour as to what to value mine at.

If Matty took offence at my original post then tough **** tbh thats not my problem. I am however happy you got the money you wanted. Oh and your right about the classics and newage being 2 different beast, only you cant really knock the newage as you had a newage engine fitted in your more unreliable classic and it would of been complimented by a newage 6 speed box.

The keyboard warrior comment was aimed at anyone who felt the OP had to prove what he sold the car for.... so if that was you then yes, if not i assume i can expect an apology from you.
