I watched La Vie En Rose last night for the first time. That nearly moved me to tears. Marion Cotillard was utterly fabulous as Edith Piaf.

I just cried after reading a thread on another forum about having a dog put to sleep and someone posted a poem written as though it was from a dog.

Not much affects me enough to make me actually cry but it's usually something like the above, or talking about the state of myself/my life.

When someone pays me a compliment about our kids. A bit strange!

And some more obvious loss of family stuff.

do not go to the various war graves dotted around the world then

a few years ago my brothers and I took my father to Gallipoli, to see the grave of his uncle

row upon row of immaculately kept graves

very very moving

we live quite close to the American War Cemetery, incredibly moving -- it is the ages that take your breath away

When my son was born, didn't cry at the time but went home on my own (they had to both stay in) and cried with overwhelming pride at how well his mum did giving birth! No pain relief or fuss and so brave despite the damage and then being stitched up!

Also ever since becoming a dad anything about people's kids dying or being hurt. Usually Jeremy Vine manages to find someone ready to bravely talk about the loss of their child, that gets me a bit.

when I get close to crying I get a huge lump in my throat. I want to cry but can't.
the only time I've cried recently was when my rabbit died.
This was a rabbit that at 2yrs old broke it's leg and cost £300 to repair with a life span of 6months. 8yrs later and she died after learning so many tricks.

Films that are true and shocking - Hatchi a dog film really got the lump in my throat.

Faye didn't make me cry

Click (yes, the Adam Sandler thing), UP! and Wall-E the big ones. I occasionally dare myself to watch Wall-E without welling up, fail every time

What is it with Wall-E? its a film about a robot that creates cubes of schit who comes across (not literally) a female type robot who pretty much nearly gets him wiped out then eventually relents and shows warmth towards him. Any typical story of how blokes fall for women really, nothing blubby about that! If anythign it highlights what suckers us fellas are and how arsey women can be.

Pretty good summary. The bit which gets me is when Wall-E climbs into an escape pod, looks at Eva and then taps the seat next to him...

I think you are, it equates to a night on the town, you invite your good lady out of the house, she says no its ok, but you know theres going to be **** to pay. Then when you do go out, she sits and cries....more **** to pay...

A few years ago whilst visiting an orphanage in Mombasa.
I was ok when we saw how few possesions the children had, and how hard they tried to live life normally in spite of the poverty. This is nothing new and no surprise.
It was even ok when we saw they had nothing in the cupboards in the kitchen. We had been shopping and bought some basic groceries for them so we knew they would have decent meals for a short while at least.
I cried when the children went to fetch foul water to drink from the nearest ditch.

The orphanage couldn't pay the water bill and the pipe had been disconnected.
The outstanding bill was just £36.
We paid it and went back a week later to see it was reconnected.
More tears when the children sang to us to show their gratitude.

When my wife's 31 year old sister died in December last year after a two year battle against ovarian cancer.

When I had to put my 13 year old cat down a couple of years ago due to her kidneys failing.

Those videos on YouTube of soldiers returning home to their kids.

Connors story , every time I read through the thread I started filling up

The only film that gets me is project x

Oh and I was a bit tearful when my first mrs left and my dog died at about the same time

Apart from that I'm fine when it comes to being a cry baby
