I have no intention of paying off my loan early Matty and if I did I wouldn't need to sell the Scooby to do so. 12K to me is not a big deal and I have enjoyed spending every single penny. I'm due a huge payout from the MOD at the end of next month and I will probably spend it on modding the focus for the wife.
I live for today s so what if I'm in debt I could get shot or blown up any day soon by some Islamic mentalist.. At least my family have a home that's paid for and I have a massive life insurance policy that is required in my line of work. You know nothing about me or what I do for a living so why do t you just do one and go and wind up someone who doesn't know what they are talking about

So some friends basically told you that you can't run over 400bhp reliably in a Scoob and you took it in your stride to want to change the turbo and install a front mount to get a bit extra to prove them wrong. But adding an extra £3k of debt to yourself just to prove a few guys with VW's that it can be done is nuts, good luck to you though mate.

Why is everyone kicking up a fuss, how many people on here run 400bhp. Why do they need to? Everyone has their own reasons- let the guy do what he want lol.
So no one on here has ever used a credit card to buy bits for their car. Wow everyone must be super rich.

i havent, i dont even own one.
i save up, then buy the bits one at a time
i had one when i was younger and it got me into trouble so once i cleared it i threw it away and will never have another.
you have no concept of the real cost when you swipe a card. see how long it takes to save up 3 grand and you will know what i mean.
its very easy to say live for today, but when tommorow and the repayments come its a different story.
although much respect for the job he does.

I wasn't too sure About this guy at first but hey
Respect at the highest level
For doing the job he does out there
Respect for the house paid for and respect for 2 decent cars
He also gives as much back too in a decent sort of way and in his present
Job and no doubt his previous he has learned to enjoy life as you never know
What's looking for him round the corner
I think you should borrow more money and make it a 500 bhp monster Scooby
To really show off to the vw boys
I'm sure this will be a 6 pager once the night time crew come on after
Discussing top gear
We also need pictures though

Borrow borrow borrow. ..
Isn't that the reason the country went into recession. People want what they cant afford, champagne lifestyle on lambrini wages springs to mind.
I do however have the upmost respect for anybody willing to risk their life in the military, its not something I would do and take my hat off to anybody brave enough to do it.
I just dont agree on borrowing money for what in reality is a luxury. Ive never had a credit card, overdraft or loan. If I want something I save up, if I dont have the money then I have to wait. We dont scrimp and save all year, we have 2 holidays a year( admittedly only one is abroad) , nice house, decent car and have money in the bank for emergency. My family doesn't go without at all even though my other half is a house wife so we only have my wages.
I recently sold my pride and joy. Put my heart and soul into the car but we decided we wanted to spend a few quid on the house. I could of got a loan or finance but why should someone else brunt the cost of it. The car was a luxury, so i sold it to fund another luxury.
Once the house is sorted then I'll save up again and buy another car.
Its just how I was brought up, was always taught that if you wanted something then you must save for it.

As I understand where your coming from, If the OP is on that sort or money then why all the debt in the first instance ?? House which is worth in excess of 200k with no mortgage, why cant things be paid for with the money earned if it's that good ? surly £3k is nothing to the guy ?

Would think thats a risk everybody takes when borrowing cash, dont think anyone has total job security anymore,2 yrs ago i was making 50-60k a year, now im earning £6.90 ph,lucky for me the wife earns good coin, otherwise we'd be living in cardboard boxes!
