There are some people I have learnt from and plenty more that I just ignore.

If the argument makes logical sense and is backed up by practical experience, then I'm inclinded to step back and do some further research.

However, much of what is spouted is based on over inflated opinions of peoples own abilities or simply an excuse to justify their own prior decisions or limitations without any fundamental evidence.

Winter tyres is a great example - no-one who has bought a set thinks they are a waste of time, however, there's no shortage of people lining up to say you son't need them.
