How many people have you spoken to who live in former colonies ? I can tell you for a fact that many Malaysians are very happy for the British influence and many Indonesians feel the current state of the country would be much better if it had been the British who colonised them.

I can also vouch same for Zimbabwe ( girlfriends words, she comes from there) we were quite rightly booted out but in the meantime we were no Portugal eg - who ripped up train lines and filled drains with cement when they were forced out

I think you'll find some Great still left in Britain. We may not be the world leaders we once were but as a place to live in safety, comfort and relative opulence we don't fare badly as inhabitants.

See this is my problem with issues like this.

Posters like you only seem to be able to concieve of a situation where Britain is either the best country on earth or the worst.

Have you ever thought it may be neither?

Except you dont. You evade and snipe but refuse to state what you actually believe. I tried 4 times on the EU thread to get you to state your position and each time you evaded. Other people have also commented on this so its not just me

I guess it makes it difficult for ideologues like you to fathom how someone can weigh an argument up on it's merits?
On the contrary, its because I weigh up an argument on its merits that I hold the positions I do. Years ago I was a a fully signed up member of the AGW brigade, until I read more about it and realised how we were being lied to. And there's a difference between summarising and a soundbite.

Have you not noticed how I'm not the only one to call you on your statements?! And I'm sure that you would agree that you hold a minority opinion on many matters on here. Therefore many people here don't care about what you say, especially when you don't actually answer any questions people ask of you. People lose interest because its not a discussion

Oh really?! Well if you want to sling that mud, perhaps you could give me an example? But not on this thread, as were going completely OT here.

I think the fact the native white people being a minority in their own capital city is shocking and shows that the immigration policy is totally flawed. The problem is only worsened by the immigrants forming ghettos and refusing to integrate, instead firmly holding onto their alien beliefs. This creates a them and us atmosphere which only leads to trouble. The obvious example being the recent videos of Muslim men saying that this was "their" area. Being a stranger in your own country is a disgrace

I answered your question on the EU in detail, and repetitively. The fact that it wasn't the answer you wanted, isn't my fault. BTW I posed many question to you in that discuss, you largely ignored them

You only ever present one side of an arguement, you hold fixed ideological positions on many subjects, all of which fit into a very tight part of the political spectrum

I have no problem with being in the minority. The problem is one of comprehension, some people just cannot accept that all issue aren't black and white. Because I cannot see issue in a binary way, I sometimes end up arguing with both sides of a debate. This doesn't win you any popularity awards

I think a great example of contradiction is the way to (quite rudely) put down anyone who has a religous faith, you are very quick to start claiming that science has all the answers, and religion is a delusion. All fairly interesting stuff, and a very legitimate position to hold of course...

Then let's discuss Climate Change, all of a sudden science is somehow subverted, and some (almost religious) belief system kicks in. Science is suddenly corrupt and there is a perfectly good conspiracy to explain everything!

Born in Balham in the early 70's, raised in Steatham, moved to Mitcham when 6, to Waddon when 13 then Carshalton when 17 so its not a new thing.

Parents movements all to do with affordibility of housing, places of work and quality of schooling.

I was born in West London and have pretty much lived and worked here all my life and for all its faults I still love the place (I am white and British and fortunate enough to own my home). If you have skills or a trade there is no reason you should ever be without work in the capital but yes I have seen many changes happening over the years.

All those “white British people” that traditionally had family homes in the city are beginning to move out of town, this is mainly driven by property values and in some cases the taxman. Obviously you can buy so much more for your money when moving out of London so you can’t blame people for doing it. The high prices in town mean that the only people who can afford to snap up the vacant family homes are Landlords buying to let. So big old family homes and Victorian properties are being split up into ever smaller flats, bedsits and HMO’s, this in turn facilitates the influx of individuals or transient workers to the capital drawn by cheaper accommodation ,job opportunities and other benefits.

Unfortunately many of these areas with high density populations maybe hotspots for crime which in turn speeds up the process of people leaving the capital. The main problem seems to be the loss of affordable family housing in the capital so young couples have no alternative other than to leave, this leaves the vacuum that is being filled as above.

I honestly think we should start the empire again but this time make more friends on the way.

Frankly Britain done much of the world a favour. Okay some bits were a bit crappy but overall the aims were good.

PS - Have those white Londoners left yet or are they still moaning about it he he
