I have a keypad same as you on my 2011 wrx sti . The keypad is for the immobiliser if the battery goes flat in the key, I have keyless start.
You should have a PIN number, think its a 4 digit.

Cheers for that, I've got a bit of paper saying key code that has 8 digits. I wondered what it was for. Now just to get the keyless entry fixed and it's supposed to lock the doors automatically after 30 sec if I forgot to lock it and that's not working either. I left it unlocked and left my fob in the house and walked back to the car after 5mins and it was still unlocked

How close is your car parked to your keys in the house? You maybe leaving your keys to close to your car when it's parked up.

my car doesn't allow me to use the keyless entry/start if my house alarm battery is getting low in the PIR sensors. Think its an anti scan/block to stop the car being stolen.

All the info about the key pad is in the handbook folder.

I've got mine set to lock door when you start the car.

there's other things you can set it for too like auto lock when you shut the last door.

Keyless entry is now working yippee!!!! I dug out the Alarm system operating instructions and reset everything and reprogrammed everything from scratch.
All the features are switched off at installation and it says in the manual "can be switched on by your Subaru dealer" so I did a bit of googling and a bit of reading and playing about with the keypad thingy and hey presto it's started working again.

I have to agree with other that the 2.5 is generally rubbish! My 08 hatch was totally std when it had total engine failure! I bought it after doing my research and it was booked in for a forged build the day I purchased it 3 wks later bang! The day before was due to be removed! Anyhoo after waiting got the car back running 460 ish bhp and just found the 2.5 disappointing compared to 2litre impreza's owned previously. It was all over far to quick (no rev range) found myself constantly shifting which I found annoying! Anyway got rid an got a 2.35 in there now which is 100% better! I would even say sell a 2.5 and put a forged 2.1 stroker in its place way more fun!
