...That's why I called my scoob "The Terminator"

Coz it seems every person I pull up behind seems to think I am going to terminate them and blasts off like a bat out of hell.......get a life

Had this when I was cruising gently back from my lass' house. Was a bog standard, quite newish Megane driven by a girl who looked a bit.. girl racery. Well I'd been driving on the motorway prior to this (was on a bypass) and so gave her a little bit to be going on with.

Obviously left her standing (I'm not saying that's an achievement you understand) but as I slowed back down to normal pace, she obviously thought she was still in the race and promptly VERY nearly binned it on the next roundabout. Gave her a flash and hazards to ask her to calm down, seemed to work. Either that or she'd just shat herself.

This is what i think a lot of them want, to hear it and see it go, i used to get it a lot in the type r, but not so much in the WRX Wagon, which i like, especially when i wipe the floor with something fancy that thought it was just going to beat me at the lights, as already proven in the other thread WRX PPP is the DADDY when it comes to 0-60.

Awesome, afraid I would of shown him a clean set of heels though...lol.

I used to ignore the young idiots in their pathetic excuses for cars. I would however give the more expensive cars a quick blast. E92 M3 on the A141 one afternoon, young slick looking chap with his blonde bimbo girlfriend decided to tail gate me and even weave to instigate a race.
It didn't last very long......:-)

Get this constantly were i live they just sit off my bumper then i just drop a gear and let the clutch slow the car down until they overtake or back off in the end annoying them this way is much safer as my young son is with me most times.

I never really get anyone trying to race me.

Although, I find it funny when diesel cars pull up next to me at lights if they are trying to cut in front of me instead of turning right.. 9 times out of 10 they dont even bother they let me pull off first and then slot in behind me

I rarely get anyone trying it on.
Oddly enough its been the pathetic Prius or the Diesel brigade who think they might be in with a chance!

However driving any other car, its the usual Audis & Beemers riding my rear bumper. Tw*ts.

Same in Leeds too, my favorite thing to do is when on the lights with someone who wants to race pop the accelerator a bit to make some noise then when the lights change to green pull away at normal speed. The look on some of the faces ive seen when they think they have won then realise you are driving slow is priceless.

It seems to be badge rage/jealousy, since we went to a one car household my lady hates taking the hatch out as there are so many codpieces on the roads locally. It also makes owning a Scoob even harder as all your partner wants you to do is sell it and buy something without a soul.

There's a video on YouTube called Saxo beats scooby or something like that. A couple of Chavs giving it the large to a classic completely oblivious that he was even racing.
Made me chuckle.

In recent weeks I have really noticed Audi drivers constantly trying to race me on the Oxford ring road. At traffic lights it seems to be any hot hatch or Halfords special chav wagon trying to race me.

One time, again on the Oxford ring road I had a group of knuckle dragging, Halford Styling loving, Special Brew Drinking, Inbreed Burberry Wearing chavs try it on with me at a set of lights in their tatty Mk3/4 Golf GTi. They start revving their engine, trying to get me to race. I blip the throttle to get the nice bang pop pop of my Blitz system. This was like a red flag to a bull and they took off from the lights tyres smoking ect. Unlike them I knew there was a copper speed gunning down the road, so I took pure delight seeing them fly past easily 20 over the 50 limit and then at the next junction, they been pulled over by another Police unit and all 4 of them are outside the car with their pockets being turned inside out

Those 2.0 TDi's are fast you know. At least Audi owners seem to think so.

According to the other thread, it's because imprezas are slow, and you are holding them up! A modern diesel will take you no probs! Unless of course you have the mighty blob wrx PPP? Best to pull over and let them past

When you've done with the engine wear, gearbox wear, fuel and tyres etc etc you might as well wind the window down and give em a fiver. However, how much is that grin worth

Funny, but I had a 320d driving like a loon trying to race tonight, I had passed him from a set of lights and filtered in yet a few 100 meters down the road he all over my back end on a slip road. As we joined he motorway he swerved across the chevrons kicking up dirt and dust and cutting in on a truck, a quick burst of the loud pedal in third and he is way behind me.

Dont know why he even bothered.

I used to get this all the time in my saloon classic with subtle mods.

Not had it once in my hawkeye wagon in over a year of owning it.
