Haha wish I could help on price but if they need fixing you might be better off getting them fixed as most won't want the hassle of doing it themselves due to time and effort so i would fox them then try and sell them.

Oh and thanks for the constructive post which has lead to the discussion albeit without a price lol
Simon knows his stuff when it comes to suspension and geo setup, they have setup several cars that are entered into the 22b/mlr sprint series inc big fud's car and John Felstead's.

Will ponder the AST situation and see what is it best way to sell them on, always good to see informative posts helps rather than the usual jibber jabber

Yeah I think bob ralwe has had his hawkeye set up on the blistens to, if I was into competitions I would consider a change yet I'm not and the AST's will do a fine job for what I need with day to day use and the odd track day.

Anyhow withKeeping the help and advice going. I recently picked up a saloon with a set to of AST's fitted

They hold extremely well and am happy with them but I'm not sure what they are set to. For me the back is a bit hard. Although I can feel what the back end is doing I think it's a little solid for day to day. So here's the questions for all that use AST's

What settings to Litchfield and power station set them to?
Or
What do you set them to?

I will try finding my setup sheet from powerstation but what I do is start from completely soft and go up one click and test till it felt right.

Had a reply from Curtis

Hello Banny,
The cost for servicing is £75+v per unit,
This includes oil, teflon strips, all orings, shims, gas plugs, cleaning, and regassing.
Turnaround time is currently 2-3 days

Kind Regards
Curtis Woodman

Depending on your usage they can set up to your req or offer different setups like road, fast road. Road & track or track.

I had mine set at 2* of camber on my T20 and I used on track and road but never had any uneven tyre wear issues But tyres only lasted 3K but wore flat. There again I hardly ever drive straight.

The lad bought my car had the inside edge WEAR badly as he was doing loads of motorway miles. He had the setting done to 1.25* no tyre wear but lossed handling.

I think fast road is 1.5*

If your majority of time on track you'd be better substantially more. IMHO

Cheers tony, think we need to sort out another meet so i can pick your brain over the ast's. Had them on my t25 and never really noticed the solid ride in the back that I do now. Left them as they were on the t25 because if that reason so not sure on the adjustment on these, the car is nice and tight, front end pitches in and the back holds and follows suit. Can really feel what the back is doing. Just the sort of thud it makes isn't to pleasant on the daily hack to work and back, just don't want to upset the ride or loose what it does as i get it wrong and can't set them back to where it is lol.

Steve that's why I changed the rear springs and rejetted my coil overs

It still gave me great handling but vastly improved the ride quality on the rear of my Hawkeye. The rear is hard to get right on coil overs after doing some testing with Curtis at Curbourogh& sprint track. The lighter rear with parrelell spring rate and the dampening adjustee gave not enough adj to get it right in both worlds.

but found that the Tapered rear spring and T25 jetting just gave the edge.

When the ASTs fitted to my new saloon rear ride and handling was great. But I had the original rear bushes in which probably softened the ride enough. IIRC your saloon had upgraded rear bushes and rear ARB. This maybe why your back is a little harder.

IMHO

Tony

Ps got offered a Spec C type 20 hawk looking at the piggybank

Cheers for that Tony, seems like you know more about the spec of your car than I do. Still waiting for the full split down. As we were looking at the second car you couldn't pm me what you were under the impression it had. Been on to cross Roads for weeks about the exact spec but getting nowhere anywhere fast lol

Oh now that does sound nice. You got any details on it mate?

Side note but you sold your your t20 to move to the saloon for a reason, not sure why but you made that decision. Don't be put off with the 340r issue and loose the love for the car, I'm not saying don't sell and do it but you made the move for r a reason and may be jumping the gun as you're disheartened, quite rightfully so but you may regret it, you also may not as the spec C version of the t20 must he awesome I know my type 25 was.
