Ive a simple answer to this....

I once called a person a dick who said to me "your only calling me a dick cos im black"

I said "i called you a dick cos you are a dick and whether white black or bright green it wouldn't change the fact you are a dick. It has nothing to do with your skin colour" Id advise them to stick to what they originally said as backing down is an omission of guilt in cases like this and if the op in genuine there was no racist intent
