I use the Japspeed 100cell sport cat and i pass the test each year, so i think you could say that's "tried and tested".

You have to get a bit of heat into them if the emissions test reads high. Mine needed to be 20, but it read 47. I revved and held the throttle to 2500rpm and in less than a minute it dropped to 19.

so unless you rev the nuts off your car the cats useless and chucking out emissions that wont pass an mot.

mine passed without the engine running

2500rpm for under a minute is not revving the nuts off it. Not even with a 2.5
