Cats are surely the pet of choice for bitter single childless 30 plus women, Gays and weird guys who cannot get a girlfriend. As a general rule when ever an ugly woman is being uppity 'how many cats do you have' is always a pertinent question.

I really feel for the responsible Staff owners, it is funny as the breed has become demonised due to ********* owning them, there seems to be comparison with the Impreza there.

I dont have either but it irks me when the irresponsible and stupid get hold of something and ruin it.

My sympathy goes to the family of the victim.

If I thought for one second that my dog would attack anyone, I'd put it down without a second thought.

"Her Indoors" rescued Dylan in 2002, he had obviously been raised to be dog aggressive, and it took years to iron-out that behaviour ( male dogs only thankfully ).

Our Cats have bells fitted, are neutered and chipped, but I guess it's down to irresponsible owners with alot of them..

yes, that's all you can do Dunk - that is being a responsible owner

cats and dogs are both animals after all -- one can only mitigate against the natural instincts of animals by being responsible owners

but so many people have no personal responsibility, so we are asking quite a lot when animals come into the equation

My sister has just had a American Bull Dog (Bull Dog.. NOT Bull Mastiff/Terrier) got it at 9weeks old back November. She researched into the bread and found it was the best with kids (like the Staffy is the grandmother of dog with Children)

She take sit dog training every week and its a really good dog with our 22month old who thinks the dogs great. He loves it and kisses it and it just lies there. We've even seen our little one near it with a marker pen.. as kids do.. it didn't bat an eyelid lol

Now... my mums 'Chorky' dog (chiwawa crossed with a Yorkshire terrier) I wouldn't trust as far as you could throw it.. it nips your feet and snaps if you stroke it without it knowing etc etc lol





But you should never leave any kids on their own with ANY dog!!!!

Got to agree its the owners fault.
My 5 yr old American bulldog is fantastic with the grandkids and the same with anyone she meets while were out walking.
Shes been trained and well socialised with people and other dogs from an early age and her worse fault is howling when the ice cream van man plays his tune coming down the street.

This whole business about cats exterminating the country's wildlife is being blown way out of proportion IMO. People seem to forget that in the suburban environment, the species they're preying on have no natural predators, because we humans long ago removed them all from that environment, so it's a load of utter pish that a few moggies are somehow going to be "upsetting the balance". It's plainly just one more example of the tedious modern trend to try and sanitize and control every last facet of our existence, so I say ***k 'em, let our noble feline friends have their fun and murder a few little critters, it's natural

My 90 year old neighbour had an old cat, had it since it was a kitten, then one day it just turned on him. He was stroking it when it wrapped all four paws around his arm and went crazy, all claws digging into his arm, as if it was having a fit. The only way he could get the cat off him was to put his arm into a water butt and drown it. Very distressing, and the noise was horrendous. My neighbour ended up in hospital with severe lacerations, loads of stitches and was so depressed he ended up in a nursing home. He wanted a post mortem done on the cat, as he knew there was something wrong with it, but it would have cost him too much money. So so sad........ Has any-one ever heard of anything like this before?

You're probably right. I've only had 5 cats in my life so still a lot to learn. Even brought one back from Africa to UK in the quarantine days who lived with us in London - kept inside mostly or it would have been obliterated by traffic on busy road outside. Free spirit = Flat spirit.

A lot of things can cause something like that, some kind of head injury, brain tumour or various brain diseases, some kind of car dementia. This is part of the point though a 90 year old bloke was still able to subdue the cat but had it been a big dog it would have killed him.

I am not saying dont get bigger dogs but alwasy have it in mind that any animal, however loving and faithful can be sick, injured or lose the plot, 99.9 percent of domestic pets live out their lives without having it happen but if it does, would you be able to subdue it, even a Jack Russell is a formidable adversary when it is attacking, it wont be able to kill a fully grown bloke but it can remove a chunk of whatever it is presented with, the further you go up in size and power, the less chance you have.

Tell you what...if you leave us dog owners alone....we'll leave you cat owners alone*.

Both animals are troublesome in their seperate ways, denying that or playing it down as the lesser of two evils won't hide that.




*However I'll reserve the right to post a cat's **** through its owner's letterbox if I ever catch it defecating in my garden
