DUMP VALVE ADVICE NEEDED!!!

A mate keeps badgering me for my recirc, and as im mafless it makes no difference (other than my new duck caller will only fit on a recirc used as a VTA) to me either way .... can you ping me some pics?
#95
And your partly right, but mafless isnt "mapped" for a VTA, more than it just doesnt matter as the inlet right in front of the turbo where the recircs dump to IS essentially atmosphere as nothing has metered the air that got that far.
.... man... im really looking mforward to my duck caller arriveing! its got a little carved duck on it and everything!

The hks is a pull shut type mechanism if you get the ssqv. Because it won't leak as the boost pulls it shut.
I run my ssqv at 2.75bar and have no issues with it leaking.
I have an ssqv with a boost controller in line with the vaccuum source and means I get dump on full boost and chatter at low boost. best of both worlds, because at 2.75bar I feel without the dump valve I will damage the turbo

2.75bar isnt unheard of, but people mistaking absolute with relative pressures isnt unheard of either.
Its arrived and fitted!Angled right he sticks his little head out of the bonnet scoop and everything! :-)
Sounds proper BO i tell thee!
Did take it for a test drive, but it sounded riduckulous!

After following this thread I started to wonder just how much difference my98 classic would be if I changed my VTA baileys bov. PLEASE NOTE every classic I've had has always had an VTA bov fitted before I've bought it so I have never driven a standard classic.. sooooo I went and bought an R-SPEC Alloy Dump Valve Recirculating AND Vent to Air BOV Adjustable. First of all I fitted it straight to as an VTA and played around with the strength of the spring. When set soft as soon as I came off boost I got a very big TISHHH. But the revs dropped so low it nearly stall the engine (baileys did the same just not as bad) if I let go of the accelerator but left in gear it was like hitting a wall! very very jerky indeed, Again like the baileys but the baileys was not as bad..sooooo I messed around all yesterday turning it into a recirculation bov allowing the bigger port to blow back into the engine and the smaller port blowing into the atmosphere..........WELL WHAT DID I FIND!!!!! ....... OMG!... its like driving a new car I still get a really deep tish but it comes from the filter side (sound like a horse lol) it stutters, and I only get a tish from the bov when coming of a high boost the car runs better no drops in revs no popping from the exhaust and smells less lean. just all round A HELL OF A LOT BETTER.....LISTEN TO THE EXPERTS. I have no idea what problems may have been caused by having a baileys bov fitted but hopefully very little...A big thanks to URBAN, TUBBYTOMMY, VEERINDER9, MARKFEY & ALCAZAR for there time and advice I am sure you must get sick off ppl re asking the same questions & if i missed your name sorry & thanks too

I am still in shock just how much smoother it is and I am pretty sure its comes on to boost more confidently and seems like more power through the gears....The down side to this is now I want to jump into my car every opportunity I can Ive spent £60 in fuel in just under 24 hours... the wife is not happy but I AM!!!
