Talking

A guy on my paper round had one of the first Mk1 VW Golf GTis in the country, LHD, black, 1600cc, 4 speed gearbox, 13" wheels, I coveted that car for many years
Then there was the Subaru Legacy RS thanks to McRae's antics in the Elonex British Championship cars
And finally the Porsche 964 RS, still to my mind the best, most purposeful looking of the entire 911 family

I've owned several Mk1 Golfs including a 1.6 and a 1.8 GTi, before progressing to a string of Mk2s. I still own a 160bhp Mk2 16V
I scratched the Subaru itch with a Legacy Turbo, upgraded over many years with a succession of Impreza bits (Wheels, Brakes, Gearbox, Suspension, etc) I finally sold it a couple of years ago because the cost of running the thing was getting to much
I've yet to ascend to 911 ownership, in any form, but have driven a couple, and they did not dissapoint Given the way 964 prices are going, I need to acquire one soon I think

I was in my R5 GTT that was stupidly loud. But as I got towards a speed camera to slow down I could hear another raspy noise over my car?

When I looked in my rear view mirror noticed this car up my backside so moved over.

When I did it was a TVR Speed 12 in black or dark blue. It was popping and crackling on over run up to the speed camera and as soon as it was safe this thing was off.

Great looking and sounding car. Not sure how many road versions they made but its an honour to have seen a real one in the flesh on the public road.
They never actually sold any road cars, Peter Wheeler (the then MD) ran the only one they ever built. He wouldn't authorise the car for production because he considered it too dangerous

There is a rumour that the car still resides at the bottom of the scrap pile at the back of the now closed factory in Blackpool
