Yep... Whole doorcards are different. You can make them fit but they are a different shape around the speakers. As is the switchgear. Wing mirror switch is where the DCCD switch is on yours. Not the door

Thanks for the info, I had a feeling from previous ownership that there were differences, My old seats must have been definitely been that MY Spec C then

Cheers

...and I've ripped my front CV boot with the damping adjuster. Stupid high quality inverted coilovers.
I'm not even that low!

Just booked in for Oulton Park at the start of November! Not sure whether I'm excited or nervous!

No real updates but I've been spending plenty of time lurking around US forums so I'm seriously contemplating Karlton flares and 18x11s. Aside from the looks, being able to use massive tyres and not stretch the life out of them or run a ton of camber appeals to me.
Even though I could get an acceptable quality set of wheels and tyres for £1500, arches would be £6-800, and to be brutally honest I'd want to convert to the hawkeye front end if I was going widearch. And that costs about £1200. Plus paint for the arches etc. So basically £4000..... Can't really see that happening.
I also want a red Bride Zeta/Recaro Pole Position like everyone else haha. Christmas present to myself I think. Unoriginal and Ill probably get accused of copying but I don't care lol.

Well, after a guy near work has got increasingly arsey about the volume of my exhaust (because 8am is too early apparently) I started to think that after him picking arguments with my colleagues, there's a chance I'm going to come back to my car with nails under the tyres or scratches down the side. I'm not childish enough to be concerned with "letting him win", I'm more bothered about having to fork out money to repair my car.
SO....... I've bit the bullet and arranged to get a more subtle and quieter Milltek system fitted. I've had the car nice and noisy for 18 months now, let's enjoy it being a bit more bearable for longer journeys.
As a way to create a silver lining, it's getting booked in to be mapped this week by Andy Carr, along with a fuel pump, panel filter and service from Brian at Cams.
Looking forward to the increase in power and torque and general drivability. Only aiming to get another 30bhp or so. Pretty excited!
I considered looking do a VF46 to put on at the same time but with labour as well that would probably push the price up a little too much.
Never had a car remapped before so looking forward to it being the whole "same car but better" thing!

Andy did my latest map. He's very thorough and it now drives much better than it did.
I suspect you'll get a fair chunk more than 30bhp

Hopefully! But I decided against decatting for now due to noise increases.

A decat wouldn't increase the noise that much would it?

I didn't think so but discussing it with Brian he said, because I already have the Prodrive sports cat, going decat would only add noise and a few more ponies, and I'm not chasing figures.

If your exhaust was noisy enough to **** somebody off, you probably would struggle at a trackday anyway!

Good Progress!

Picked it up today!
It's a lot more civilised sounding, and luckily the Milltek has a jap style tailpipe so no need to get it cut off and a new one welded on.
Initially I was a little disappointed, BUT the powerband is massive! Loads of torque everywhere and it is very VERY smooth. Revs great and feels like a beast!
It's an overtaking machine now.
Just goes to highlight how bad it was running before haha.
No figures as the mapper left before I had chance to speak him but I'll be seeing him on Tuesday.

Congrats with the remap

Could you make a vid with acceleration please? Just curious how it pulls all the way up the rev range on 3rd or 2nd. And what's the mileage on the engine?

Thanks

Course mate I'll try to. Engine has 89,000 miles and I've been told all is fine! Personally I think that mileage and remap a is a bit overexaggerated. If the engine is sorted then it should be fine regardless of mileage. That said, it's just my opinion, and I'm a bearded f***wit haha

Had a fantastic time at Oulton Park day! The trackday bug has officially bit hard!

It was my first one, and I wont lie - I was crap to start with. Luckily my tuition was scheduled so I only did about 3 laps before getting and instructor in with me.

After instruction I did a LOT better, felt more confident etc.

I lifted off to let a cars pass me as I enjoyed having my own 'pocket' of space as I went round the track, and every now and again came across some traffic so I simply pulled off track and rejoined to let them get half a lap ahead of me.

Everyone was great, loads of nice cars and I'm definitely doing another one.

Brakes got a bit hot though....Looking into that & also possibly sorting the ARBs.

Managed to speak to the mapper and it made approx 330bhp too. Well chuffed!

Pictures soon when my mate gets them off his camera.

Out of my way Cayman!

Mr Moobs 2014 1st place

So!

Small update. I normally get bored of my cars after about 12 months so after 18 months of owning this I needed to change something physically. I got a spare bootlid about 6 months ago for £15 (eBay bargain) so I threw it on this weekend. Cheaper than a Hawkeye front end conversion...

Now I'm not sure if I like it. After getting quotes to get it sprayed to match of £200 and over, I thought lets check I like the wingless look before I do it!
Something thats clear, there's a lot of colours going on! Silver, red, black, gold... I was going to put my yellow Lamin-X on the headlights but thought against it so it didnt look like a clown car! After I've cleared my credit card I think I'll get some 18s, (keep these 17s for the track) and a paint correction.

Cant decide if I like it, but it's different to how it looked last week so that's enough for now! Ive been tempted with the Kaminari spoiler add on with carbon blade so will hunt for that in the new year I reckon.

Well I'm currently putting it back to more standard to sell it!
It's now got the standard high level spoiler and bootlid on, standard steering wheel, standard gearknob. Still got red wheels for now! For sale when my private plate gets swapped off!

Fair enough mate.

If you do change your mind I have a 05 STI with the blue interior that is coming out in the next few weeks as I have a WR1 interior coming but
obviously yours would suit better as the door cards match.

No worries mate, don't blame you not wanting the hassle.
Let me know if you do decide to change.

They're great. Very firm ride but I've never looked into altering the damping as I love how it handles.
