How are people in poverty today a result of her legacy?

If that were is case, then every single subsequent leader has failed miserably in their duty.

Gerry Adam's statement boiled my **** today: Just for one day in his whole life he could be the better man and put his vengeances aside and show some respect, but no he has twist the knife into someone who now can't answer back: Caused great hurt? What about the hurt this murdering ******* caused on countless people himself? Only a killer would show so little remorse or respect.

A tragic loss, that woman had backbone, some thing missing in todays politicians.

Mostly good but not 100%. I think the country would be in a right state without her.

Rest in Peace.

The thing is, we will never know whether she was what the country needed or where the rot set in, the unions had certainly not helped and things were in a state, she flogged off a lot of stuff, but to be honest it was fooked and needed investment. Like it or not, though we are in a state we have had a few good years since Maggies reign, she was no fool and worked with what she had and has been said, if nothing else she was strong.

There seems to be a lot of "ding dong the witch is dead", jesus, this is an eighty odd year old woman who was in poor health, yes, she dicked a lot of people over but a lot of people were due a dicking over from what I can see. The problem is we cant have the country as an example with or without her, I hate to say it but I think without her we would have been in a **** a lot earlier.

RIP Mrs Thatcher.

The first two for each were a foregone conclusion given the unpopularity of the preceeding governments, they wouldn't have even needed to put fwd a manifesto.!

But Ali why should he? Not defending him, but it gets on my nerves how people find all this respect when someone dies whereas all through their lives they had nothing but contempt for them. At least adams isn't a hypocrite like so many others!

I meant that if has nothing to say but contempt then he should say nothing. Afterall its just one day. But no, he uses this to further is political career. The lowest of the low.

He is a hypocrite - the statement he made about all the bad she did, yet showing no remorse or sympathy for all of the people he has hurt through his own actions.

She was a true leader, a patriot and a person of integrity I'd like to think. I can't imagine her fiddling expenses for example.

And her crowning glory? Oh that's got to be 'death on the rock'. Just for you Gerry Adams. :flip:

Amazing to think we live in a country where our greatest living Tory prime minister is John Major

A great leader who took no sh*t from anyone, it was about time someone someone stood up to the Unions. She sent our troops into war to reclaim our land not like Blair who sent our troops into Iraq on the back of lies, wish she was in charge today. Someone with some backbone, and as for the comments of Gerry Adams, he has more blood on his hands than her. How many people died due to that Irish t**t and his bunch of bog arabs.

RIP Maggie

I meant he isn't a hypocrite over Thatcher. To be honest I despise the man, but I do think there are an awful lot of people saying nice things for no other reason than it's the done thing. You are right though, he would have been better saying nothing!

Are you spying on me...?!

Spot on. I did a four year engineering apprenticeship with the MoD, then 17 1/2 years with them and now over ten years as a self-employed plumber, despite the best endeavours of Messrs Bliar & Brown.

Yup, lots of people seem to be jumping on the 'awww she's dead poor thing' bandwagon, can't remember the last time I spoke to someone in person whether it's in a pub or out doing shopping or what ever that turned round and said she was all this and all that.

Now she's dead she was a hero?

Get a grip you soppy *****.

You must drink in the wrong pubs...the ones round here are all full of Thatcherites that loved her long before she died.

Odd really as its been a Labour dominated constituency for the past thirty odd years

No but i was pretty sure you were in a skilled trade.

As for people saying she killed off the north, what utter sh*te. If you have no skills or qualifications dont expect to earn the same money as those that do. Know your place

Well, anyone with an ounce of decorum would have respect for the dead.

Obviously that doesn't mean they should suddenly turn about face and say the reverse of what they have said previously. Not sure who in particular has done that though? Except the general media, which is guaranteed to contradict itself every time the wind changes direction. Just staying quiet is the better option, but that wouldn't sell many papers
