Was gonna run my hawk on top mount for now with something like a sc46 or equivalent but if i can get a front mount at the right price !! The Perrin looks good but getting put off by the price ! Seen them for sale in the USA for just over £1 k but by the time shipping is added might just cost the same as here .

Any other suggestions for a front mount ?

Thanks maz

Scoobyclinic do the perrin kit around £1300, you do have the cosworth option but that over £1600 from memory. All based on the 08>

Think there's a hdi as a budget unit or aps do two options a dr525 and 725 from memory and again i think that has to come from the states

On the MY08>'s I'm led to believe the inlet is certainly a restriction.

This is assuming all things are equal, which with the most important element of effective mapping, is not always the case (as in who you use and what hardware is being utilised).
Looks like I can add a perrin inlet hose into the car fund then lol, got to love modding

Whilst it may be the combination of the inlet and intercooler that actually increases the power so radically, I'd always be more comfortable over 400bhp using a good quality front mount
Because the "project" is all about trying things should I have the ability to do so..... unfortunately I never tried the inlet changes on their own, which was a pity in hindsight.

I wouldn't whole heartedly disagree with your 400bhp comment. My response was based on the bhp capabilities, not what I would actually choose.

See reply to Martyn's post.

Yeah a "budget unit" that works extremely well and happens to cost 1/3rd of the price of the Perrin.

How good are the hdi units? Also are they a decent figment, or do they need alot of mucking around to fit?

Not sure who sells the HDI kits now.... I'm sure someone else will advise.

The car that ran the AET turbo (I did a fair bit of development work with AET at the time and I ended up with a standard fit turbo based on the GT3076 core) was my previous SPEC C that was converted to a 2.5ltr Type25 set-up. The turbo was awesome on that engine. It achieved 540bhp on VPower and over 600bhp on race fuel..... was amazing as a road car. I now run a LM450 Billet in my current JDM 2ltr Hawkeye, currently at 480/465 on the standard engine.

Not disputing what you're saying, just adding what I know others have acheived on the OEM TMIC. Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure that Mikee Singh had over 450bhp on the TMIC when the SC range of turbos was being developed as well. The information and graphs are somewhere on the SC turbo thread.

If you buy a Hybrid kit specifically for the Hawkeye they fit very well. I had to alter a Classic kit to fit as no Hawkeye kits were available at the time, but even that wasn't a hard task tbh. Guide is within my project thread.

Yes but he was running on 100% E85, which of course had a massive baring on the figures it produced
